Actually, I removed the license, yet, it's still launching as me having a license and loading 3rd party plugins and what not.

Cool, I think I found it, thanks so much.

I sold my copy/license of Studio One recently. I uninstalled S1, but the license information persists. I tried to install Studio One Free, but it's showing up as Studio One Pro still. Where is the license file so I can manually remove it, and also, what else do I need to clear out in order to fully remove Studio One Pro? The computer I'm doing this on is Windows XP.

Why is this on page two?!?!

Do NOT let me find Delete Me in such a sorry state ever again.

Never mind. I found it in the FAQ. Dur.

As a side note, if anyone is interested in acquiring S1 Pro let me know.

I'd strongly consider a computer upgrade. But if that's just not an option (and I can understand if it's not)...

Try Reaper. www.reaper.fm

In my experience Reaper has run on anything I've installed it on. It's pretty forgiving. And the price is very fair too. You can try the demo for 60 days to make sure it works well on your system. Buying it is only $60.

Missed 4000 by a mile, but I haven't forgotten about Delete Me.

Perhaps I'll shoot for the 5000th post.

I have an early 2011 MBP. 2GHz i7 quad. 8GB of RAM. I've had chronic crashing with Studio One. I had it with Snow Leopard, and I have it with Mountain Lion. I've had it with a ProFire 610, I've had it with a 44VSL, and I've had it with no interface at all. I've had it with Studio One 2.0, 2.5, 2.5.1, 2.5.2. Nothing has made a difference. Just when I think I'm on to a reason (using different versions of a plugin (AU vs VST for example), it happens again. Force closing. I tried opening trouble tickets. Nothing has been resolved. I finally in the last couple weeks gave up and went back to Logic. I may even just take Studio One off my computer so I'm not tempted to give it another shot.

I love Studio One, the workflow and design of the program are brilliant. I'd love nothing more than to switch to Studio One and forget the rest. But I've simply never been able to make it stable. Logic Pro 9 on the same computer has been 100% rock solid. I moved from PC to Mac a few years ago to get a more stable recording environment, and spend more time recording and less time troubleshooting. And Studio One has sort of set me back.

Again, I still love S1. I support the continued development of it. Some day in the future when I get a different computer, maybe even build another recording Windows PC, I'll give Studio One another shot. I know plenty of people are running S1 stable, but something is unique to my situation where I can't get stability with Studio One. Maybe there is something specific about the early 2011 2GHz i7 MacBook Pro that Studio One doesn't like. I've gotten crashes simple removing a track, or resizing a track's view, or adjusting an automation point. I've got crashes dragging in a 3rd party plugin, or removing a 3rd party plugin (I've seen it happen with Toontrack stuff, IK Multimedia stuff, Waves stuff, all major players).

I don't want to discourage you and I hope you work your troubles out, but I wanted to share my story. Studio One is a brilliant piece of recording software and I sincerely hope it works out for you!

DominicB wrote:Ok, this happens to me but the AU version seems to work fine. If I instantiate the VST version while play mode is stopped, a crash does not happen. Also, if while in play mode I instantiate the Au version then the VST version it seems to work.

Kinda weird, I usually don't add plugs while in play mode just for that very reason but it should work no problems.

I've confirmed it on my end.

Thanks for confirming that. I'm not big into adding and removing plugins while playing audio either. But EZmix kind of lends itself to that on the fly approach. But again, thanks. I'm really trying to narrow down my issues. I find 32bit is for the most part rock solid for me. Still having plenty of crash issues in 64bit though.

Thanks again for that confirmation, and I assume it's being looked into in some way to implement a fix?
Studio One General Discussion » Proper way to fully remove VSL driver on Mac. » Go to message
Right after posting the following question I found my own answer. I'm pretty sure this covers it...
http://support.presonus.com/entries/20353062-AudioBox-VSL-Series-How-do-I-uninstall-AudioBox-VSL-on-my-Mac-

I know this isn't directly related to S1, but the VSL forums are pretty dead.

I'm changing interfaces and I'd like to completely and fully remove the driver for my 44VSL. I had read there's a special way to completely remove it. What's the proper way to do this? Thanks.

I signed up for the trial. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the Studio One series. So far, it's overview, nothing fancy. I can always appreciate a refresher walkthrough though. Definitely worth the time for a freebie! I'll save final judgement for when I'm finished though.

On 2.5.2. No interface, on Mac's internal audio. MacBook Pro 15" i7.OSX 10.8.3.

In 64bit mode, opened Guv'nah demo session. Looped part of the lead vocal (beginning part, drug cartel, etc). Play audio. Drag EZmix to vocal track. Studio One crashes.

Do it in 32bit,audio keeps playing and no problems or crashes.

Is anyone able to confirm this.
Studio One General Discussion » Mac users - What interface are you using with Studio One 2.5, and why you love it (or hate it). » Go to message
I'm currently shopping for a new audio interface for use primarily with Studio One on my MacBook Pro i7 quad-core. I also use Logic Pro 9 sometimes for certain projects.

I'd like to know what interface you're using, how you're system stability is, and why you love or hate the interface. Personally, I need something with at least 4 preamps, but more is ok. I'm not going to go any further about which ones I'm looking at, as I want to see what everyone is using and how their experience is! Thanks.

64bit is an unstable mess for me, but 32bit seems to be running well.
