Thanks … I'll look into the UPS.

It's clearly not a "computer sleep" issue … 1) I'm sure its set up correctly, and 2) it happened when the 'puter was not even connected.

Thanks

JD.

NOTE to Presonus: If there is any question about the power, perhaps your digital consoles should include a sine wave power conditioner…

…. the 16.4.2 was superb apart from its reliability. Hoping the AI will hit both targets!

10000% agree.

Can anyone report on improved reliability for the AI's vs. the Original StudioLives?

Yesterday I had the SL16.4 set up in the living room doing some EQ presets using a previously recorded CAPTURE show. I had to run an errand and just let it sit; Capture was put in "pause". When I came back I restarted Capture, there was no sound to the board - click on inputs they were all dead. I rebooted the board and they all came back. Hmmm I said.

Later that night and on Four separate occasions I again lost all input, mid-show, and always with a big pop through both the mains & monitors. A reboot of the SL solved the problem but after the second failure I pulled the computer firewire into the SL in case it was the computer causing the issue - but twice again the same failure happened, same big pop everywhere, same reboot to solve - but clearly unacceptable.

Does any one else have history like this? Does the AI address this problem?

I have a 2007 (?) era Thinkpad Dedicated to the live-sound SL 16.4 with UC / Capture and a Remote iPad.

Occasionally the board freezes, Presonus suggests it might be the PC, and that makes sense based on other data I have.

What is the best configuration for the T61? What programs can be wiped off, which are critical to the operation?

Working fine.

For some reason I get the below when connected to my iMac. The UC seems to work (move a knob, it shows, and vice versa), but NO SOUND.

Any ideas?

I use to have trouble connecting to the PC .. until both the firewall and the wireless internet connection were disabled. Both are off ... I can't even get the inputs working with no PC connection.

Thanks

I've had a series of annoying issues ... just reinstalled Universal Studio in an attempt to fix, and re-did firmware on SL 16.4.2 ... Firmware Version 1.50a, Buld 190 ... (pretty sure that's where it was already) ... and now have lost all inputs.

I've lost inputs before - reboot of the SL seemed to fix it, although that qualifies as annoying - especially mid-gig. Recently I started using Capture - great feature but last night the board went dead again - mid song. I unplugged the PC-Firewire, and it took a couple SL reboots but did get inputs back for the rest of the gig.

Today I was playing back the Capture Files, and it froze ... and I lost all inputs, now I can get nothing into the SL - neither FireWire nor Analog. The Gain Reduction is all red (-72) regardless of which channel is selected.

When Hooked back to the computer, I get the SL showing in Universal Control, change the board and the PC moves ... but - again - can get no input to the SL.

Ideas?

P.S.: Occasionally when adjusting mid-set (like loading a channel preset) the SL will freeze - all the lights go out except for some random ones - and always the same ones (see pic if that helps) - and the board "works", but I can change no settings either on the SL encoders or from the PC. A reboot between songs has solved this in the past.

Last night - mid song - I lost all the inputs to a SL 16.4.2. As a quick remedy, I pulled the firewire connecting the SL to the 'outer.

In between sets, I rebooted the computer and set the latency to a higher number ... I was only running Capture ... but still it happened a second time, ie., mid song - I lost all inputs to the SL 16.4.2. After the second failure, I just gave up on recording the show.

The only other thing I can think of is I'm saving the files to a drive connected USB to the computer, and it's "down" to about 4 hours recording left - which I had assumed more than enough for a 2 hour gig.

Any Ideas?
