I think so. This past Saturday night I clicked on "Get" and it looked like the scene names showed up in the right column. There were several that were not there though?

I have to mix band on a house PA this coming Friday night. They have a StudioLive 24.4.2 and so do I. They will allow me to swap them.

Is there a way I can get the band's scene out of my console and into theirs?

I have a:
StudioLive 24.4.2
MacBook Pro
Airport Extreme router
iPad 2

Someone told me I need to buy a "thumbdrive"(?). I don't even know what that is. You all should know that I'm not very "computery". I had to have someone set up everything up so that I could mix with an iPad. I just turn it on and hope it works. I'm not good with computers so PLEASE reply in Sesame Street level language. Can you break it down step by step? I mean, "click on this - type this - now push this button" type instructions.

Thanks everybody!

OK, the right click thing made the sessions in the "Recent Sessions" box go away. Now when I click "Open Session" in the "Sessions" box all the sessions, cache, and audio file words still show up. I just want to make sure those sessions are deleted so I can record the show tomorrow night. I have no idea how to find out how much space I have on this lap top.

Thank you for the tip!
How do I (You fill in the blank)? » How do I erase a Capture session? » Go to message
Two weekends ago I finally tried messing around with Capture. I put the disk in and hoped that it (Capture) was actually in my lap top (Mac Book Pro). I recorded all three hours of the band that night and played it back through my PA for a few minutes after we were done. Everything seemed to be there - GREAT! The next weekend I decided to record another show (we play 3 hours straight) and I thought I would erase the "session" from the weekend before. We had a fill in singer and I didn't need to save that session. I could not erase that session for nothing!

OK, I just opened Capture. I'm looking at the screen that shows a rectangle that says "Session". It has two choices underneath that say "create session" and one below that says "close session". Below that is another rectangle that says "Configuration". Now, to the right there's a bigger box that says "Recent Sessions". The session I want to delete is "LIVING PROOF FR 10-26-12" (there are two of them for some reason?). Last weekend I tried to delete these over and over and they are still there!

I'm not very "computery" so please excuse me if I use the wrong terms for things. On this lap top there choices at the very top of the screen.

Presonus Capture File Edit Session Help

I just clicked on "Open Session". A box opened up that says "Open" at the top. Down below, under "Name", there are choices of LIVING PROOF FR 11-2-12, LIVING PROOF FR 10-26-12, LIVING PROOF FR 10-26-12.capture, Cache, and Audio Files

What do I do from here? I'm telling you, I clicked on every one of these (except LIVING PROOF 11-2-12 - I want to keep that) and clicked around above looking for anything that said "Delete". I did this several times and both sessions (LIVING PROOF FR 10-26-12) are still there. If any of you can tell me STEP BY STEP what to click so I can delete the "LIVING PROOF FR 10-26-12" sessions, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!!!!!!

Yeah! I just noticed that this past Sunday night while mixing on the iPad. I'll be waiting for a response on this myself.

Yeah, this is why I had to switch to aux fed subs. The HPF has proven useless. The variable HPF was one of the reasons I bought an SL24.4.2. Yeah, the 6dB/octave is just nowhere near enough.

Monolithent wrote:Unfortunately no. Your best bet would be to route your aux to sub 4 and then grab the mains and the subgroup four when you need to turn them down. Since they're right nest to each other.

You can't route auxes 1 through 10 to a sub group. If you push "SELECT" on any of auxes 1 through 10, you'll have access to all the "Fat Channel" settings but the 5 buttons below (SUB 1, SUB 2, SUB 3, SUB 4, MAIN) will not light up. You can't choose those when you push "SELECT" on auxes 1 through 10.

Hey, thanks for your help though. I really appreciate the response! I'm just tryin' to learn what I can.

basiklydeke wrote:My question would have to be.....

why are you bringing down the main fader?

I would want to bring down the main fader if I wanna bring the entire band/live mix down.

Why not just bring down the fader(s) that are controlling the iPod? Problem solved.

The issue isn't the volume of the iPod, it's the volume of the whole mix. It's not a big deal to bring the main fader AND aux 10's (the aux fed subs aux) master at the same time. I just wanted to know if there was a way I could bring down the whole mix (including the level of the aux fed subs) with JUST the main fader.

I'll probably try this tonight.

OOPS! I guess if I "pan feed" the subs, I would use the main left and right outputs anyway, and not the MONO output. I'm really sleepy...

I assume he's using the FAT on the main bus (compressor, limiter, eq and like) and it's in linked operation, i.e. stereo.

You can't separate its functionality into dual-mono and this would be required for correct operation.

Only geq can be separably controlled on the main bus...

Yeah, I'm thinking about trying this if I can't get the GEQ issue figured out.
If I "pan feed" the subs, and assign GEQ's 7 and 8 to Main left and right, with those GEQ's work for the MONO output? I've read through the manual quite a bit searching for this answer but I haven't come acrossed it yet.

Yes and no, because here comes the stupidity of not having stereo linked faders

Mono out is just an analog sum of main l+r. This means that anything that you do on the main out will happen on mono out as well.

But! Since the geq isn't stereo linked you'd probably not hear so much of a change since only one side is tweaked.

AAAAAARGH! Don't tell me I've gotta put a 2231 in a rack! I was loving only having the SL24.4.2 at FOH!
