Thanks for the reply! Because I'm sooo new, I'm just wondering how you might have yours set up. We have 2 lead singers ( one male & one femaie), backup singers, keys, bass, drums, acoustic and a lead guitar. We've coupled together the backup singers on one channel, the bass and drums on another, and the acoustic and lead on another; with everyone else having their own. One other thing......I'm the lead singer but I would rather hear more acoustic than lead guitar (remember they are on the same aux), but of course the lead wants to hear more of him. There is no way that I can hear that aux one way while they hear it another way is there? Thanks

I was trying pre-fader but could not get any results. I had the PDL pressed and the CUE turned up but could still get nothing through the headphones. I tried to follow the manual instructions but I'm doing something wrong.
StudioLive General Discussion » The Post Button » Go to message
Ok as you can tell we are newbies but my question is about the "post" button on each aux of a studiolive 24.4.2. I understand that it is pre and post fader but I guess I need a better description because we can't decide on when is a good time to use it. Like during live band music, would you want it off or on? How about playing recorded music ie itunes? Thanks for all the help guys. We need it!!

We do have stage monitors pointing towards the pastor but they do not have him coming through them because we figured out that the more he could hear of himself then the more quiet he would talk. thanks for the response

Thanks for all the responses! Let me try to answer as many that I can. I tried to upload pictures of our FatChannel but can't quite figure it out.

The input gains are set at about 1:00
The compressor is set at -16
Our preacher, of course doesn't speak the same all the time and is a low volume speaker
The countryman does not have a blue band
The output volume knobs on the back are set about medium. (does everyone agree that they should be at full volume?)
Forgot to look at the model of countryman but will on next post and will post a pic when I can figure it out

Thanks all

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I should clarify myself. The problem with the pastor is not feedback, it's that we can't get enough volume from him even though we have him nearly maxed out. Plus he can come in one week and it sounds good, then the next it sounds like his in a hole.
With the band and vocals, I guess when I said they need mixed that I am not referring to the faders but everything else ie gains, compressions, etc. Hope that helps a little. Again, I am not the sound guy but just trying to get a better understanding. Thanks everyone!

Hello everyone. Ok, I am not a mixer and am asking this question for general 24.4.2 knowledge about our church sound. Our pastor has a countryman wireless mic and it seems that a couple problems are happening. His sound has to be re-mixed nearly every week plus we almost have him maxed out on the faders and his volume is still not as loud as it should be. The gains have been increased until feedback occurs. Is this typical? Also, with our instruments and vocals.... how often do you have to re-mix them when you have the same people using the same mics in the same place each week? Starting to wonder if we just have a rare lemon for a board. Just curious.... Thanks

I have the iMac outputting to the firewire through the sound preferences but didn't try the audiomidi setup. I'll give that a shot and let you know. Thanks very much!
24.4.2 » Firewire Output » Go to message
Hi guys! This is my first post but I have to say that I have read many posts and have received outstanding advice through each of you. My question has to do with firewire output.

I am using an iMac with ProPresenter software during worship service for video and audio tracks. I have been using the headphone jack for audio output but thought the firewire would give me better results. I have the firewire hooked up; set the iMac to firewire as audio output; depressed the firewire button on the Presonus but still not able to output. I have been receiving input through the firewire using Capture. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for the help!
