A question; just install or have to remove previous version than install?

Just install
Then install the Softube Saturation Knob extension.

Anyone got this solved yet?

If so, how?

Thanks in advance

PS. I'm working with support on this, and they tell me to reactivate (but my studio is offline, so I've not had the time yet).

Anyone got this sorted yet?

I've got a mail from support that said I have to uninstall/install Studio One 2.
Should that be necessary just to get a Serial nr. Komplete Elements?

Edit: I just received a new mail with the suggestion to re-activate my Studio One 2. How is this gonna help?

Anyhow the computer in question is now offline, moved to my studio (no internet). I'll have to do this manually this time.

Anybody tried this solution?

Thanks in advance.

Steinberg is somewhat stubborn.

You can have the best idea in the world handed to them, and they just "have to" make their own twist on things. Complicate things if necessary for triumphing through "their way".

They invented the Vst technology, so no one will arrest them for implementing good, fully working methods found in other DAW's.
But again, they have to "make it their own".

I really like Nuendo (user since version 1.6), but Steinberg is a strange company regarding their business strategy.
I've also used Cubase since SX1, so I had my fair share of frustration throughout my history with them. But I have stuck with them.

Maybe Studio One will change that. Who knows? Very positive so far.

Have a nice weekend.

After some more testing, I'm able to do the same thing from the Track List.
I think we very much agree then

The only difference is that in PT, they have one more menu option.

I've fed my curiousity. I'm stuffed and happy

Learning something every day. Thanks for "pushing" me.

woodsdenis wrote:In my experience it doesn't exactly do that, it will display the WHOLE LANE with the Clip Within The Edit Section. So if you have clips further up or down that lane it will show them too, its a criteria for finding clips BUT will show the entire lane/track/song that they exist in, with all other clips that may be there aswell. Lane in Protools =Layer inS1

I'm aware that if you have events on the same Playlist within the song it will show all across the whole song.

But if you move in sections and making new/different Playlists for, let's say, Verse1 - Verse2- Chorus1 etc. it's nice to not have a bunch of "empty" Layers/Playlists in the editing area in view (what happens outside my zoomed in working area is not that disturbing).

Hope it makes sense .

Are there any plans in adding this "Layer Filtering"? Anyone know?

Thanks. It helped.
Now I'm not that crosseyed any more

Did I say I miss the this kind of Track List in Cubase/Nuendo???
I'm not used to it, so I had the track list hidden. Well well, we learn something every day

Thanks again.

We acted a bit fast. The method you mentioned above (Expand Layers), I knew (even made me a Key Command).

But....... When I mark a Layer (ie beneath the main track) and right click > then choose Hide Layer only that Layer is hidden (do not hide same Layer for linked tracks???).
This Layer will not show up again using the method Expand Layers. Can't seem to find any other way to bring this "hidden" Layer back in view.
This has the potential to be a nice "house cleaning" workflow in larger sessions.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

There is no point in being able to "Hide" Layers if there's no method of bringing it back???? There has to be. Anyone else?

I'm having a Lanes/Layers/Playlist (Nuendo/Studio One 2/Pro Tools) comparison weekend .

Will try to report back, if in interest.

Not in Protools, similar system to S1. All the DAWS do something similar.

From my last post:
This is the thing from PT's Playlist that I'm referring to:

Right Click on Track in Tracklist, select - Filter Lanes > Show Only Lanes With > Clip Within The Edit Section.

This will show Playlists in the selected area only (Range/Edit Section).

Clearly in Pro Tools. Not in Studio One.

Right Click on Track in Tracklist, select - Filter Lanes > Show Only Lanes With > Clip Within The Edit Section.

My main DAW of choice has been Nuendo since Nuendo 1.6.
In paralell I have been using Cubase since Cubase SX1 (crossgrade offer from when Logic was abandoned on pc).

But have been exploring Pro Tools for a while, but never really clicked.

I am now a proud owner of Studio One 2 Professional, and of corse very exited about the upcoming v.2.5.
I like S1v2 a lot, and without comparison the easiest DAW to start up with (not fully up to speed yet, but getting there )

I'm not quite satisfied with the Layers. I'm not 100% with Nuendo's Lanes either. I'm least familiar with PT, but this Playlist Filter option is really clever when working on a larger recording/editing session.

This is all for now.

By the way, I think I have seen your name on the Steinberg forums as well.
Are there many other Cubase/Nuendo converts around this forum?

Thanks

I agree, it should reside the Track menu.

Is this possible in S1v2?
Studio One General Discussion » Hide/Show layers? » Go to message
I right clicked on one of my track layers > selected Hide Layer. It did just that .

But how do I bring this back?
Can't seem to find something like "Show all layers", "Show hidden layers". Any tips?

Thanks in advance.
