Hi all,
I know this is an AudioBox forum,
but I haven't found any forum that fits my FireBox question better so I hope it's OK I'm posting it here.

I've used FireBox for several years now with my PC, and now I want to use it with my laptop for gigs and on-the-road DAWing

The problem is my laptop doesn't have any FireWire inputs in it,
is there an adapter I can get or a PCMCIA card? how can I make sure it would fit both my
Firebox & Lenovo G570(4334)?

Thx In Advance, ZBBZ.
FireStudio Mobile & FireStudio Project » Guitar rig feedback problem and external audio leakin in using FireBox » Go to message
Hi all,
(Hope this is the right place for posting this...)

1) I've been having a long problem with guitar rig.
Whenever I put on a preset like 94 Rock Solo or God's Love or other high gained presets I start getting a lout high pitched incredibely annoying feedback sound. what can I do to make it go away?

2) External Sound gets into guitar rig(Like music playing in the backround when used as standalone and other tracks get inside guitar rig when I'm in a project)

I noticed the volume of external audio is increased when the cable is plugged in, but it exists even when the guitar cable is not plugged in.

I'm using Win 7 64, Sonar X2, Presonus FireBox and Guitar Rig 5.

Thx In Advance for the help.
Digital Audio Recording » Samples & Audio on a single SATA III or Audio on Sata III and samples on external USB 2? » Go to message
Hi all,
I'm wondering how to place the files on my new PC build.

I have:
1) 160GB for windows & apps
2) 500GB Green WD for files (I think it's too slow for any involvement with the DAW)
3) 1TB Black WD Sata III
3) 500GB Samsung USB2(external) - it's a lil' old...

I'm wondering if I should place either audio or samples on the external samsung instead of keeping both on the Black WD Sata III.
I know that normally it's good to seperate the samples and audio but because samples go to RAM when you start the project and the SATA III is much faster than USB2 I think it would be best to use the external for general storage and keep both on the Black WD.

What do you think is the best way to go?
Digital Audio Recording » Daw Optimazation Tips & Tweaks For Windows 7? » Go to message
Hey all.

I got quite a lot of tweaking info for a DAW that runs on Windows 7 on the internet,
and especially from a few guides by PreSonus,

but there are some contradictions between some of the info so I wanted to ask:
What's the best, most reliable and most updated tips about tweaking and optimizing Windows 7 for a DAW?

Thanks in Advance, ZBBZ.
Studio One General Discussion » Sonar X1 User Thinking whether to go with X2 or StudioOne » Go to message
I use VSTs, I don't have any crazy sounding synthisers.

I'm leaning towards studio one anyway. the whole "atmosphere" and approach seems healthier and more productive, and stuff is adding up with each release.
Studio One General Discussion » Sonar X1 User Thinking whether to go with X2 or StudioOne » Go to message
Thanks stew. Although I think you need to compare at least X1 with studio one since the interface was changed and IMHO was a big improvement. although as I said - I'm not sure it was big enough
Studio One General Discussion » Sonar X1 User Thinking whether to go with X2 or StudioOne » Go to message
Hi all,

I kinda left DAWing ( ) for the last 6-12 months and I'm getting back at it.

I used cubase a few years back, than switched to Sonar X1, and than had a break.

I like some things about Sonar X1-the new interface and pro-channel are cool features,
but it was also clumsy, not always user friendly and ofen buggy.
I remember trying out StudioOne v1 and I liked it but thought it was a lil' premature and lacked some important features,
Never the less I liked the fact that it's a modern product and not a 20-years long update & upgrade,
I think you can really tell by how if functions and how "friendly" the software is.

Now I'm thinking whether to go Sonar X2, StudioOne 2.5, or maybe something else.

I mostly record jazz, funk and rock using live guitars and a midi controller for piano, strings, sometimes bass etc.
I also have an electronic drum set I use with Superior Drummer 2.0.

I would love some thoughts on the touchy DAW X Vs. DAW Y subject, thanks.
Inspire, Firebox, FP10 (Firepod) » I insatlled the 64bit version driver for firebox - but the proccess shows *32 ?! » Go to message
Alright I think I found out what was going on.

I think it's just the firebox app that is 32.

and in sonar when I switched form WDM drivers to ASIO drivers, I could see the 64 bit drivers of FireBox.

Asio is better right? less latency and trouble as I understand...

thanks for your help guys.

Hi there. I own a firebox, and I recently reinstalled formatted my system.

I have Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit Service Pack 1.

I installed the latest driver(5.13). It seems to install the 64 bit version since it's in C:\Program Files\ and not C:\Program Files(x86)\. also some of the dll/sys files have a "_x64" at the end of the name.

BUT when I open windows' task manager - >processes I see "FireBox.exe *32" same for when I open the mixer(with it's respective process).

Also, before I reinstalled windows I had Windows 7 64 bit also, with firebox driver installed and I remember the drivers I could choose from In my DAW(Sonar X1) were name "Firebox.........64 1" or something like that, and now the drivers show regular names like "Presonous Firebox........1/2" etc.

Why does FireBox seem to work in 32 when I installed it as 64 ?

thx in advance.
