Two things...

1. This system below...
hp pavilion dv5 (laptop) win7 home basic x64 amd athlon x2 2.00 ghz 4 gb of ram, s1 2.6.0 x86

... only has 4gb total ram, of which the OS is likely using 1gb, which means that 2.6 gb will be awfully close to crapping out.

2. Re: Studio One x86 running on a 64-bit OS in the second system below...

assembled pc win7 ultimate x64 amd athlon x3 3.30 ghz 8 gb of ram s1 2.6.2 demo

... has a theoretical limit of 4gb of ram, although the practical limit here for me is closer to 3.5 gb of ram as you can see below where I have 3.5 gb of samples loaded in S1 x68 on Win 7 64 and my ram meter light is blinking red ... meaning that it will soon crap out.

Note: That's what the ram meter is actually there for in x86, to let you know when you get close to running out so you don't run out and crash. Use it.

If the same holds true (the practical real world limit being somewhat below the theoretical limit) for...
hp pavilion dv5 (laptop) win7 home basic x64 amd athlon x2 2.00 ghz 4 gb of ram, s1 2.6.0 x86

... then yes, he's running out of ram at 2.6 gb being used by S1 because he only has 4gb total and the OS probably uses a 1 gb.

Not an unresolved bug.

Hope that helps.

Already started it. So far that plugin preset list will generate an HTML page with all the settings from all insert plugins. No idea how useful it will be or not but it was easy enough to parse the preset files and pull that data out.

Interesting, the numerical resolution of those settings, how many decimal places. HTML page screenie below...

Thanks. It's progressing but not quite ready to share yet. When you click on the main song list the song unzips and populates the other lists, if it has plugins, fxb's or midi clips (*.music files). It lists all *.song files underneath the target folder, no matter how deep the folder nesting.

Drag and drop of all of it is either individual or chains if you drag and drop an item with the list symobl (the three horizontal lines).

Something on the dev table. An app to unzip Studio One songs directly and browse all of the the plugin presets and midi and fxp's all in one screen after a short load, and drag and drop any of those things into another song.

That was a great idea actually.

I modified his method using a macro to get a similar result without having to dig into the browser or save a midi file. Macro attached below, it places split muted notes on GM Kick, Snare and Hat.

Not sure, but if you switch the first two letters of "Movable Loop", you end up with "Lovable Moop".

I think you're confusing Methadone with Methamphetamine.

I think i'll cook up a batch of Methadone for the upcoming delete me thread withdrawals and make a few quick bucks.

It becomes really useful when you record over the same tracks twice or more.

Well... I wouldn't go quite that far.

Layer are also primarily "edit layers", places to store alternate edits and/or arrangements, and a kind of non-linear undo, so they do have multiple positive uses outside of just comping multiple takes. I actually use them way more for general editing than comping, like before I make any kind of complex edit I duplicate the layer.
