I use "Zoom All" constantly. ( mapped to "Alt+Z" )
My 2nd most used (~ every 5 minutes) is one of my Comping Macros "Set loop from range and play" for auditioning an event.
Both available on the Exchange....

Yes when you run the installer.

If you haven't already check out the update.
$79 or $99 with one of the new kits.
The Fairfax kit is just awesome. It is a very fat sound that just fits right in with the mix.

More kit piece ,
Studio-grade effects
Tone Designer
Transient Shaper
Kit piece linking,
Electronic sounds augmentation

New Beats page Including Search Grid ( Similar to Tap 2 Find) makes is easy to find beats ( I believe it searches 3rd party beats as well)
Transform existing beats ( velocities and replacements)
It records every thing you do so you can hit a a kit piece and then drag just that sound into S1, or grab just part of a beat etc.

Here is the resulting merged PDF file in case anyone wants it:

Studio One 2 User Guide (merged).pdf (19.4 MB)

Don't forget
Studio One 2.6.2 V 2.0 Signal Flow.pdf
Studio One Zero Latency Handbook.pdf

But I agree with an earlier post. The best manual might be project managed by Presonus but written by the experienced users
One of the reason people love the workflow of Studio One is 1) it is intuitive 2) They keep most of the complexity hidden.
There are many undocumented commands/key strokes that today you only pick up through advance tutorials or advance user tips..

Works in Reaper and Sonar x3.
Just not S1. To be clear just the drop part into Song Builder.

"Tap 2 find" works way better than the old fashion browser way.
Let's encourage Presonus to lead the charge with the rest of the browser.

Studio One General Discussion » Anyone upgraded to EZDrummer 2? » Go to message
yep
It is not a Superior, BFD or Addictive set with full control. Just suppose to be EZ
From an S1 perspective I am more concerned that .mid files do not drop in ( like they do in other DAWS)
I think I will write that up as a bug.
To be clear I mean dragging midi data from S1 arranger area or the Si browser into the song builder in EZ2.

Hey Dan - you're right, it doesn't seem to work in Studio One, but I just tested it with Reaper and Sonar, and there it works fine.

Your right.
I knew S1 (Instrument data) would not drag into the EZ2 song builder direct as MIDI is not really MIDI in S1. It is a better than protocol.
I did a two step process to convert it to .mid first and it did not work.
Testing just straight .mid files from a library to EZ2 in Sonar works but the same .mid file does not drop in in S1 ( sounds like an issue on the S1 side as the pure .mid file should drop in)

wwp wrote:I explain you what I mean: let's consider a piano with a bass. I wouldn't use any quantization, I normally hand quantize for piano. If I want the bass to fall exactly on a piano accent I could take one of the piano note, copy position or quantization (same) and applying it to the bass note. The way I do it now is to copy a piano note on a different height, move it to the bass track and rewrite the velocity. 3 steps against one.
In next similar passages of the piano you might like the velocity but not the position, then you could apply only the position copying from the previous note or viceversa.

For me it would be very useful.

Have you tried groove quantize?

Drag the groove of the piano track into groove pool and apply to bass track.
Cant test now but I believe it will apply the piano notes velocity as well as timing to the bass in one click..

Have you challenged the "Tap 2 find" yet?

I think the ideas is potentially a game changer in the browser area however the technology has but scratched the surface of what could be done with the idea.

I am hoping Presonus will pick up on the idea and take it to the next step.

Find me all C, Am G progressions.
Find me all grooves that go with this groove
Look across all MIDI and Audio files...

Pros
. Loads drums much quicker.
Songs done in EZdrummer 1 sound the same. Drum (modern) sounds good (the Modern Vintage preset sound similar but better than the default EZ 1 kit.)
.
Tap 2 find:
. FYI : Appears to only works with EZ patterns.
. In general it is quicker than wading through libraries of patterns.
. Fairly accurate with most basic kick snares 1/8 quantize
. Less accurate with 1/16 kick snare patterns
Edit Play Style is nice. It works per MIDI clip so you can change drum articulations per clip.
. You can’t drag MIDI clips from S1 in to the Song pattern or “Tap 2 find” but you can play existing drum patterns in S1 that will get picked up by the Tap 2 find to come up with much more elaborate patterns to match up and it works.

Cons
. EZdrummer 2 finds EZdrummer 1 and replaces it.
Song create mode: Real easy to hit space-bar for play which only send S1 into play not EZ 2 this causing patterns to start in the middle of pattern. Also you have to watch out. It does not take edit control from S1 so if your use to using standard commands like the delete key you will be deleting events in S1 not the song builder.
. Can’t drag external MIDI patterns into song builder.

You will have to look for that files location.
It is not normal to my knowledge.
You most likely have Jbridge wrapping an in appropriate dll or have it in your vst scan path.

Normally S1 64 bit will find 64 bit Rewire apps and 32 bit S1 will find 32 bit Rewire apps.
Reaper does have a bridge that allows 32 bit Rewires to talk to 64 bit host but that is a dll meant just for Reaper.
Jbridge should not be wrapping any Rewire dll
Look at you scan paths of both S1 and Jbridge.

Just a small bump on a very small FR for V3.
If you deal with any kind of tempo/meter changing in your project the current implementation of copy/paste will not work for you as it is not aware of the tempo track. (not to mention sometimes you don't want to copy automation)
Studio One Forum Community Support » Too long startup due to Rewire scan ? » Go to message
What is the rewire bridge 64 for?
Is it a Reaper code or J bridge?

Does it work after the wait?

Wow this us really old post.
Start with my basic videos on audio timing and first decide what you want to align to.
You might just need to drag a beat here or there.
http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/15718.page
Check out my channel for hours of training on audio timing.
Hope that helps.
