I'll be looking for a product from another company in the future, because there's obviously an expiration date on Presonus products.
Well, good luck with that my friend. EVERYTHING in this world,(yourself included!!), has an expiration date.
I can see by your wonderfully philosophical insight that my point had been made. I guess I lose. Even though many 2626 units are still out there in full operation, the decision to drop support for them has been completely justified. Thanks to some snarky comments, I see the error of my ways. Presonus could even use this logic in their replies to all support inquiries. "Sorry you're having problems, man. All good things must come to an end, man."
Motu's legacy products are still supported, but that doesn't matter, I don' think anyone can classify these as obsolete. I don't think the studiolive will be obsolete very soon either. But I have to be thinking about my future when I make a purchase. Tascam was the first to do this to me. I'll be looking for a product from another company in the future, because there's obviously an expiration date on Presonus products.
So basically everyone should realize that if you buy one of their studiolive consoles and own it for 6 years or so, they'll drop their support for the product and stop releasing update software. Good to know. This is something I'll be letting people know.
