But what if you can't make good music because just jamming on the instrument is sooooo much fun?

Thank you very much, I'll study this.

Yes, totally, LMike! Thats the plan for me in the future, I totally love working this way.

Multitimbral VSTi is a nice idea, but in practice it's cumbersome and feels "odd".

The standard UI solution would be:

Select multiple entries with Shift / Ctrl + Click, click ONE checkbox and all selected entries get ticked checkboxes, too.

And yes, here, but please in a standardized way.

Actually I wanted to know something else here...

I loaded different kits into BFD2 and used a lot of reverb and compression but the sound was either totally "hollow" or it simply was not as fat and upfront as I wanted it.

I'm not asking about gear - I just wish someone could tell me the basic steps to create a very, very dense, upfront "wall" in a sequencer, something I can use and start with.

Something I never really realized until now, but I really prefer monotimbral VSTi over multitimbral ones.

One of the things that make me hesitate when using Kontakt all the time is: "huh, now I load this monster and can't simply drag and drop a single timbre and add another one by dragging and dropping".

Just my 2 cents.

Hm, no, lokerfly.

What S1 would need here would be a "group of tracks" which operate closely together, can only be moved together, etc...

There should be a thicker border around it and all that.

Does anybody know how to create this fat "wall of sound" Oasis have in "Don't look back in anger"?

I don't know if I'm allowed to post Youtube links (Copyright, as usual).

How is this device? Do you think I would like it?

My workflow is a lot about VSTi and electric guitar recording.

I have two situations at hand which I would like to know about:

1. Ripping 80s / 90s module file samples and using the samples via Kontakt / Sample One in new songs

What do you think about that?

2. Sampling presets from KORG Triton and sharing them for free

Hm, I really can't figure this one out.

I should add...

Of course I could fire up Kontakt 5, but, hm... a big, big sampler just for playing back a small little ripped sample from an early 90s mod file? Really?

I think that this is exactly the use case for Mr. Sample One.
Digital Audio Recording » Recording vocals to different rhytmn » Go to message
This is a nice trick.

For special effect, record vocals to a different rhytmn (but same speed and matching harmonies, of course) than the song you intend to use it into.

This may sound odd and strange and all that, but this gives it a certain feeling of "being sampled".

Mid 30s hobby musician with a background in professional music long ago.

During daytime I'm a software architect and clean code development / coding best practices "evangelist", by night I turn into a psychedellic rock / symphonic metal hobbyist with some strange love for intense dance music (with metal guitars and feverish melodies).

I play keys and I love my stratocaster, but I wish I was better at playing the guitar.

I could get more music done if jamming wasn't so much fun for me.

User story:

"As a user I want to be able to use crossfading looping with forward / backward / ping pong direction options so I can use old mod / S3M - file samples better like a boss."
Studio One Feature Requests » One click "precount only" for the metronome please » Go to message
Here is the User Story (I like Scrum, too - and I guess S1 is done using this methodology):

"As a user I want to be able to switch between metronome modes off / precount only / on with a single user interface element so I can quickly have the metronome only there where I really need it."
