Thanks for the feedback scottyo7, it will be taken to heart. I'm still trying to get me head around Melodyne, but I'm starting to figure out that is some pretty cool stuff there.

Hi all,
This is my first post in the category, so bare with me please.
I have 5 instrumentals that I have put together and posted on Nimbit that I'd like some feed back on. I am an amateur and looking to improve my technique and skills. The backing tracks were put together by me using royalty free loops that I have purchased and the guitar parts were played by me. And the mixing and mastering was done by myself as well. What I'm after as far as feedback goes is as follows:

1. Is the music any good? (I know this can be a personal thing related to your taste, so go from there...) or should I hang it up now?
2. In what ways do you think I could improve upon it?
3. Well, any advice that you feel would help me to improve and make things better overall.

The songs are free to download, and if you like them and want to share them, then please feel free to do so and share the link if you like.

All songs were created in Studio One Pro 2, my guitars (Epiphone Les Paul and DOT Studio) and my Digitech RP500 were the only pieces of external equipment used (oh and and Ebow is used on one song).

Hope everyone enjoys, and I look forward to your feedback.
Studio One General Discussion » Cubase 5 or Studio One???? » Go to message
I tried several DAW's (Cubase, Sonar, Reaper, blah blah). Then I discover S1, tried it, loved it, totally converted to it.

Now, I'm kinda hooked on it. (you know, kinda like a really great drug).

Haven't loaded any other DAW in over a year, and refuse to pay the upgrade costs for any other DAW but S1 (not that I have had to purchase an upgrade for S1 yet, but I will if and when that time comes).

Studio One has become my DAW of choice period.

Oh, I found it, in the Inspector panel (I had that panel hidden from view, go figure).
Cool beans my friend, that is exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you very much for the help there.

As for the purpose, mostly I'm just experimenting, maybe it could work for playing a bass line with one hand (and instrument) and a rhythm on the other hand (with a different instrument). That is if I can get my fingers to cooperate
Studio One General Discussion » MIDI data in S1 Producer » Go to message
I'm kinda new to using MIDI, and kinda green yet on all the ins and outs of Studio One 2 Producer.
So I thought I'd ask the question here and see if this is possible.

I have a Acorn Industries Masterkey 49 USB MIDI keyboard controller, which doesn't require (or include) and software to run (or control it), it's fully plug'n'play.

What I want to do is split the keyboard into two (or more) zones, so that each zone (or range of keys) activates on a different channel.
(ie - C1 thru B2 = Zone 1 which operates on MIDI Channel 1, while C3 thru B4 = Zone 2 which operates on MIDI Channel 2)

Which would allow for VST Synth A to be driven by MIDI Channel 1 and VST Synth B to be driver by MIDI Channel 2.

Is there a way to do this in Studio One 2 Producer, or even a VST plugin that can do this?
Studio One General Discussion » Just want to say (regarding Studio One) » Go to message
Hello everyone,

I just want to say this, feel the need and can't help it (maybe it's the scotch, but anyway).

I've only been using Studio One for about 6-8 months now (have the Producer version).
And, I had been using Audacity and Cubase 5 LE (came with my Digitech RP500).
And it is really amazing how easy Studio One is to use. I just loaded Cubase and tried to do some stuff in it.
Thing is, I hadn't really touched it after getting S1, and now I remember why.
For one reason, and one only, compared to S1 I now find Cubase to be, for lack of a better term, "clunky" to use.

So, to sum it up, Presonus I am a complete Studio One convert.

Thanks for a great program, making music with S1 is so easy and it never stifles the creativity.
I must say I love this piece of software.

Just want to say to the OP, I don't do Twitter, sorry. And I feel the same about Facebook (waste of time, IMHO).

But, if you have any questions concerning S1, well I am willing to help if I can.
I've only been using S1 for about 6-8 months, so don't expect me to know everything.
But, in asking a question, maybe we can both learn something here and there (or at least one of us).
PM me if you want, post here if you don't (I'm flexible that way).

That said, I do have to admit, all the cool SPAM stuff is pretty funny, but the maybe it's just a southern thing?
Studio One Forum Community Support » CAN*T INSTALL 2.5 Update! How do I do it? » Go to message
Actually, I have 're-installed' for every update (4 times now), and I have never lost my settings.
Granted I am using Windows, so not sure if OSX will act the same way.

But, after every update/re-install S1 has always retained it setting and my configurations.
Nothing I have setup, configured, added to or installed has been lost or reverted.
Hopefully it will act the same way on OSX.
Studio One Forum Community Support » Studio One Producer V2.5 (x64) and Softube Saturation Knob » Go to message
I have first uninstalled theSoftube Saturation Knob, then both the x64 & X86 version of S1.
Then I re-installed S1 x64 first and installed the Softube Saturation Knob.
Still it does not show up.

Then I installed the x86 version of S1 producer, checked in it and the Saturation Knob plugin shows up there.
Guess if I want to use it I'll just have to use the 32 bit version of S1.

Does anyone know the default installation folder that S1 and/or Softube install this VST to?
I have checked in every VST folder I can find (know about), I don't even see the plugin' DLL anywhere.

Sounds like I might have a problem then.

I'll try uninstalling and re-installing it, maybe it'll show up then.
At least now I know it SHOULD be showing up.
Thanks people's

Just curious if anyone knows if the Softube Saturation Knob is 32 bit only?

Doesn't show up in my effects list in the 64 bit version of S1.
But, in the 32 bit version of S1 it is there.

I does show up in the installed extensions on both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version of S1.
Hence my reason for asking.
Studio One Forum Community Support » CAN*T INSTALL 2.5 Update! How do I do it? » Go to message
I use Windows, so not sure on the OSX.
But, can't you just use your internet browser and login to the PreSonus Studio One website and download the executable from there and then install it?

Go here http://studioone.presonus.com/registration/ and then click on the login link once the page loads.

That's what I do for my updates on Windows any way.
Studio One Forum Community Support » S1 2.5 & Guitar Rig 5 Pro » Go to message
Just wondering if anyone has noticed this.

After updating to Studio One version 2.5 I have noticed that Native Instruments Guitar Rig 5 Pro is using a lot more CPU cycles.

Presets in Guitar Rig that were hitting the CPU fairly lightly are now really pushing it. And to the point of it now being nearly unusable.
Also, I have noticed Ampire XT is also using quite a bit more resources.
