Ok, so I've had quite a few problems with my firestudio project since I've had it, nothing has seemed too severe until lately where it's interfered directly while working with a client. I've tried to contact presonus tech support, but the link just takes me to the support homepage/knowledge base, pretty frustrating. It's kinda difficult to describe the problem directly to be completely honest, but I'll try my best.

Like I said it interfered while trying to record a client of mine, he ran his guitar directly into port 2 of the fsp. It went fine for a practice run or two, then it started to break up and distort, which usually I would think would have something to do with the asio driver or the sample/buffer rate, but it wasn't. All audio, even after playback, on the recorded track that had just showed some corruption to the audio line.

Now it's a pretty daily thing where the device kinda resets itself during playback of audio of any kind. Sometimes the red light will flash once, most of the time it just stays blue and resets itself silently, but on recovery there's no audio playback, though it shows the audio is playing through the device via output meter in universal control. Also, today, when playing back audio, it somehow output audio from channel 2 and 3 rather than 1 and 2. I have no idea why, it just started out of the blue, and then out of nowhere started playing back on 1 and 2. I just don't understand it, I have nothing plugged into the device except for main outputs 1 and 2.

Things I've tried:
completely uninstalling everything related to presonus, universal control and firestudio project.
reinstalling universal control.
different firewire cables.
different firewire adapter on my pc. meaning I've upgraded it to a T.I. chipset that is verified to work from a via chipset
disabling other audio controllers, like the default windows controller, realtek drivers, so that presonus is the only audio driver running for my pc.
running ohci info, latencymon, dpclat all of it checks out good.

If anyone has any suggestions or is willing to help me troubleshoot, that would be awesome.

FireStudio Forum Community Support » VERY IMPORTANT! Users who have Asus motherboards w/ AI Suite » Go to message
I recently built a new computer for audio production along with a Firestudio Project and kept having issues with cracking/popping/audio dropouts.
I ran latency mon, dpclat and searched the forums forever trying to find a solution to the problem, turns out ai suite on my Asus sabertooth 990fx was the issue. Just simply exit the program or end the process and those issues shouldn't be a problem.
Figured I'd save similar users a headache or two who had the same problems I had.
