I have 16 trks of audio from old ADAT machines, lined up. Want to redo some midi trks & improve sonically.
It seems that the ADAT tapes STRETCH so that even though they were cut at 144bpm, the audio slowly pulls away from the midi click, as the songs proceeds. The original sync was SMPTE.

Can anyone help w/ a solution that works?

Let's start with more information.

Assuming the ADAT tracks have no tempo data in them.
When you import them and look at the inspector data do you see the file tempo not set?

When you say they were cut at 144 BPM does that mean the performance was done to a tick track?
( if so this means there will be slight timing variations with a live performance. )

Are you marking/setting the initial file tempo as 144 via the inspector?

After the initial 144 setting are you going through the beat mapping procedure to align the down beats throughout the song?

It might be a sample rate issue. ADATs are 48kHz. If you digital imported them and your project is not set to 48k, it will be off both in tempo and pitch.

Actually there is a stereo/mono button on the Main Out:

That was added somewhere along the line. I deleted my obsolete YouTube videos.

Been looking on here for a stereo to mono option for live gigs and the trouble with this button is it won't save so I have to remember to press it on each song during a gig - not a good idea. Can we have it so it can be saved?

Another way is to insert the Dual Pan effect and center left and right channels. To get stereo, by-pass the effect. You can also save a mono preset to make it easy to apply any time.

Just checking back because in mid-February, you estimated that your next SL video series for the Studio would be ready in a month.

Anything you can tell us on a release date?

Hi emjayess,

I did finish up the new series about a week and a half ago. It goes in depth with StudioLive AI, VSL integration along with some coverage of using Studio One the mixers.

Groove 3 should have it available within the next couple of weeks. You can send them an email then post back here what they tell you!

I should do a tutorial series on the One Knob plug-ins. Waves One Knob Explained. I am sure I could do 3-4 hours on that - seriously.

While I don't use them much, all the One Knob plugins are very nicely tuned. I am really not sure why forum guys hate them so much.
