Studio One General Discussion » Please don`t make it like "FATTY DAW" » Go to message
emrahcelik wrote:Hi;

Sometimes I read FR section on this forum and some of them are really great FRs but most of them are just not for the producers who switched from another daw to S1.

We all know that major daws are very fatty with features and stuff. I call them fatty because when I compare them with S1, s1 looks like it has a fit workflow and I do not want to lose it. S1 is already a great daw for creating music productions and there are some FRs (scares me) designed for a post-production or video editing software.

For example; Cubase has 20 years background and their workflow is kind of same since years. If they change it or create a new workflow then all users has to learn it from scratch. It is very risky for a company and thats why they use to add new features without changing the workflow. maybe there are tons of features i don`t even use them.

S1 is the best daw for creating music. simply music. I really do not care if you can`t edit your videos on s1 or can not edit scores, film productions etc. I just want my s1 simple as it has to be. Like perfectly created for modern music, loops, records, midi editing, automation etc.

Please do not compare your S1 with other daw`s characteristic specifications and make FRs.

Let`s make this DAW as fast as it can be, stable as rock and perfectly designed for creating modern computer based music. Not heavy, fatty like cubase, logic etc.

I was a cubase user since 2004 and I don`t really miss something that I have done with Cubase but not with S1. Maybe some plugins, thats it. What I can request from Dev Team is that, more plugins and just make it faster or more stable with simple workflow improvements.

For me S1 is a milestone and I hope I made myself clear.

Best.

I couldn't have said better myself, PLEASE...PLEASE no more BOLT ON'S.

antret1 wrote:Well, well, well...... That sounds like a nice solution. Will have to try these ASAP then.

Let me know how it work's for you. I been fiddling with it on and off, got Revalver to load but only as an Instrument. If I could get it as an effect I'll have all my amp sims back, could say good bye to cakewalk(maybe keep it for nostalgic purposes and the effects). At least the effects that I'm use to applying will be available in Studio One, not all so far but a majority. Anybody else try this yet, chime in and let me know what's working or not, Thanx in advance.

antret1 wrote:Thanks for the heads up. Will have to try these. To use any old DX plugs I have been using another freebie called: VD Audio FFX4. (http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/us/products/dxrack/dxrack.htm) The free version is a 4 space 'rack' to insert DX fx into. You can use as many instances as you like....

What this does is search at start up and list the plugs in the browser, then drag and drop as you would normally do. As far as I can tell they load as individual vst's.

Some of you have goto DX plugins that you use in your old DAW that you can't use in Studio One, would you like a way around that with a wrapper. I have Sonar and love the Sonitus suite of plugs so this is a life saver(well it help's to have the added option's at least). while surfing the KVR furum I found this thread http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=177538&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Hey I tried it out on the Sonitus suite and it works, let me know if it work's for you.

I only tried this in the 32bit version can't vouch for if it works in the 64 bit.

Got the Cakewalk MFX plugins to load and work(in oder to use them you have to load the MFX on it's own track and than the Instrument on it's own track then on the instrument input select the MFX and turn on monitor for both tracks) and all my DXi's show up, need to experiment a little further, so far so good.

All the old Soundforge plugs load can only get parametic eq to work.

Sontius compressor doesn't work all the others work haven't tried surround yet.

Voxengo plugs work.

Cakelwalk DX plugs work although some are registered to run only in Cakewalk most work.

Able to load Cakewalk Sycron32 step sequencer as an MFX.

Not saying your not legit but we've had problems here lately with cracked software requests, follow xylyx advice and hopefully you can get this sorted out.

here is the thread asking to post in tech support: http://forumsarchive.presonus.com/posts/list/19632.page

I've seen some other posts of people having similar problems.. Please help me out!

Try posting this in the tech support forum as we were advised to do recently, you should get better help there.

Yuroz wrote:Yeah i do that but i'm lost when fl is open.. What i need to do in fl ? And S1? Thankx

here is a short video on rewire. You can do the sequencing in your rewire device but remember that the transport is controlled in Studio One. Most of the time you would compose in FLStudio and then bounce tracks to Studio One. Hope that don't confuse you too much and good luck.

But really...FLStudio is $200 which is a phenomenal price for a full DAW that can also be used as a VST hosted inside S1, which will provide you with one of the best pattern-based sequncing environments on the market.

Hi, can you explain me how can i do that?

Thanks.

Using Rewire. goto the instrument tab, scroll to rewire, find FL studio then drag and drop.

With all due respect to all who posted in this thread, why must it devolve in drama, this is a forum for Studio One discussions, the OP started a discussion to have others chime in on speculation which in my view is quite reasonable. TheMuzic is quite helpful and a valuable resource for all who frequent this forum so here's some advice from another old fart who's patience is short, don't defend yourself to every post that's got your goat, I have found this work's to keep the arguments to a minimum. LMike gave you some good advice too. I like a bit of drama for entertainment but this apologizing every week is getting long on the tooth my friend. Keep up the good work you do and let the small stuff fall off or you will be constantly in the sorry mode.

I look forward to a full point release myself.

I like the idea of the mid/side thing. Might try that. What is CS5.5?

It's the new version of Audition(stripped down) included with Adobe CS5.5. I didn't upgrade cause they dropped all the features I needed, more for MAC support as a ground up rewrite. I'm not looking forward for CS6 as it will not have CD burning or MIDI support. Studio One 2 Pro has the mastering suite built in and it's pretty close to Audition 3 editing capabilities.
Studio One General Discussion » Vocal Remover » Go to message
The only program I've had good luck with is Adobe Audition 3, you could Lasso the vocals out of the spectrograph with pretty good results. Unfortunately they don't sell that version anymore and I don't know how good CS5.5 is. One way would be to use a Mid/Side decoder to split the center track(vocals) and move the instruments out the the sides, hope some one else can help.

i'd visit auralex.com and do a little research if i was you.

Follow this advice my friend, also make sure if you do buy from a different source that it is not flat but corrugated and sharp on one side so as the break up the sound waves better. Good luck with your acoustic treatment.
