Ever since I updated to 2.0.5, I'm getting an 11% RAM usage reading on S!'s performance meter from the 32 bit version --when nothing is loaded or running. The 64 bit version doesn't have this problem.
Separate 32 and 64 bit installations of Studio One 2.6 Prof.: 15" Lenovo 2.4 i7 W530 laptop w/8gb RAM, 1920 X 1080 screen rez; Windows 7 64 Bit SP1. Backup computer same brand and specs., other than it is E520 dual core, i5 with 1366 X 768 screen rez.

Why has the installer doubled in size? What exactly is this thing packing to make it so big?

I tried it again last night and got it working!

Really nice update, macrotoolbar works great. Setting up macro's is easy. It's cool to think of new stuff to do.
I got a macro working that loops a selection after it has been split using markers: the selection is cut, the track is muted, hidden, a new track made, named Loop, the selection moved to the start of the song and the tempotrack opened. Then i only have to Ctrl click drag the the first piece of tempotrack to match up the loop. This way i can record audio (mono) beatbox, drums whatever, and then quikly make an edit so that the selection is looped and the songtempo matches the loop.

Only not shure how to link a midicontroller to a macro.

I also like the Motoko's mpc swingsettings.

Thanks @ Jonathan!

There is no RAM usage meter in the 64bit version, as that is irrelevant. The RAM usage in the 32bit version signifies that S1 is using that % of RAM from that which has been made available to it by the OS. Check what the OS reports S1 is using.

Map the button on your controller for the device map, make it press/release type, and then right-click on it and choose 'Assign Command'. In that menu, search for Macro, and you'll see all your macros listed in the same section, just pick on there and voila!

My cpu is jumping around from 10-32 or so % in an empty song.

My ram is pegged at 15%, with nothing at all running.

Also Ampire gets popping and crackling using some of the heavier presets.

Open air is pretty much unusable, pops, crackles all over the place.

My buffer size is set to 512, dont get any of these issues using Live, Reaper etc..

Win 7 64 i7, 8 Gb RAM... using 32 bit S1 and a Steinberg\Yamaha UR28M IO... set to 512.

The extra Ram is for my work, 3d, Video editing, Photoshop etc..It wasn't installed for music production.

I don't run 64 bit S1 as I would have to go back and reinstall all the x64 versions of my plugins and some I use aren't avail. as 64 bit. Also, I shouldn't have to upgrade to 64bit. I want 32bit to work correctly.

Regardless, the problem isnt that I have too much ram, it, apparently is a problem with S1, as I'm not the first to report these issues in this thread.

chriz79 wrote:Hello at Presonus,

when trying to download the update via the help menu -> download crashes at 50% and I get an error message.

MB 2 GHz, OSX Lion 10.7.3

Seems as if other customers rerouting similar issues.

Would you please check?

Thanks,
Christian

Got it working: I assume this is due to last time when I tried to download v.2.05 (via update function in help menu) my primary configuration INCLUDING an external instrument was not connected to my computer. Maybe studio one updater has problems to properly install updates, when scanning for connected external instruments at application start and user selects to not connect those at that moment.

By the way, I dont experience any of the issues I listed on the 64 bit version...

Of course, I cant use many of my plugins either.. so ya.

Hope someone at Presonus can take a stab at what's going on here.

The CPU meter in the 32 bit version is going haywire, modulating anywhere from about 8-32% very very quickly, like its got a nervous affliction and ram pegged at 15%

..in an empty project.

Def. something wrong here.

Thx in advance.

Hi ONE REASON, I think what Mykal was trying to hint at was windows only recognises a max of 4GB of memory in 32Bit.

I`m having the same problem as you only not as erratic, just higher cpu usage with nothing loaded.
And your right you should`nt have to load 64Bit.
Good luck.
T.

Same problem here with the RAM used at 10% in S2 2.0.5 32 Bit (didn't tested the 64 bit version).
Here some screenshots of S2 2.0.4 and S2 2.0.5
