Sounds nice but no more kontakt in S1 unless it's absolutely necessary. S1 does not like kontakt.

I hope you're wrong. Komplete 6 was perfect with S1, and I'll know soon enough when I install K9.

I think the problem in the past was with NI Machine was it not? Something along the drivers possibly? I just have not had any problems so far, and hope that continues. Don't mind me, I'm just hearing myself think positive.

Anyway, I'll report my findings.

well i was tired of chasing my tail on kontakt. love the sounds and love the libraries available but all the free libraries out there only run in demo mode in the player which is bullshit and i cannot afford the high price of the libraries and certainly cannot afford to buy the full kontakt. so i turned to IK's Sample Tank and bought the XL for the down low in preparation for the new ST3 out in a few days which i will buy.

but i will say i never had a problem with kontakt's usage in S1.

You either have the problems, or you don't. To find out, load "studio drummer" and let it loop and watch the cpu meter. If you don't have the issue, then obviously those of us who DO have the problem are just cursed.

Check out DrumMic'a by Senneheiser. It works in Kontact (and not in demo mode! It just works). You do have to navigate a page in German to register, though. I only remember about 20 words of German from my time overseas...but you just have to think about how these pages are typically constructed. Hints: The word "Weiter" means "next". You can sort of tell what many of the fields are. "Strasse" means "street", so fill in your address there (real address, or not). You can pretty much guess what many of the fields are when trying to do the register form. If something isn't right, it sends you to the fields that need to be completed. Use google chrome to translate, if needed.

Once you register, you get an e-mail to activate. You don't really have to read the German...just click on the link. Once you get this going, you will be happy. This is totally free, and the quality is great. Tons of drum sounds and loops. Or you can drum with your midi keyboard. It has a mixer, and you can change the mic-ing of each drum. You can even flip the phase of your drums, I believe.

I BARELY know how to use Kontact. I really mean BARELY. But messing with this package is helping me get it.
Seriously....check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2TuymOIBBE

This is especially for you j (branam) ! Don't like demo mode in Kontact? Hopefully you can say goodbye to that! Peace!

Ok, I'll break out the candles when I load everything. That's what I used to do with SCSI drives back in the early days using the 1st version of Cubase Audio. I had a Yamaha CBX-D5. What a wonderful HD recorder. Only things were so sensitive, I had to create complete drive images because every once in a while the SCSI 1 went blue-ee. DAW's were a tough road back then. Fun, but tough...and expensive! Each 1 GByte hard drive $800, CBX-D5 $2500, Lexicon PCM-60, $1000, etc. etc. Without even getting the computer yet. Eeesh.
