I use capture on my live recordings, but sometimes I need to get 24 channels, since i have a 16.4.2 and i can't afford to buy a 24.4.2 yet, I would like to know if I can connect a Firestudio and use Capture to have the 24 channels on screen? If I can't, you guys should consider that possibility!!!! Thanks!!!

Yep you can use the Firestudio to "capture" up to 32 tracks if you add a Digimax, for example, but, in general, your live mix will be limited to what going into your SL16. If you use a DAW, like StudioOne, you could theoretically submix something, like drums, going into the Firestudio, then send a stereo or mono mix back to the SL16 over firewire to add to your FOH, but that will add latency.
I really got it, but what I really want to know is if I can us the Capture Software to record the 16 channels of my SL and the 8 of a firestudio? Or if the software Capture can only record the 16 channels of the SL. Thanks!!!!

Yeah, I was saying that you could do that, but I just double checked, and it looks like it will only work with SL hardware. I thought it also worked with Presonus interfaces daisy chained to the SL, but it doesn't look like that's the case. You might have to find a cheap DAW to accomplish that. My friend has a SL16 and I have a Firestudio, and can test this, but it won't be for at least a few days. I'm sure someone will chime in by then, but if not, I'll let you know what I find.
Just use the bundled Studio One Artist software that came with your SL 16 mixer and use the UC to add the extra 8 channels.
I use Reaper myself because Studio One Artist doesn't support my 3rd party plugin ins. Reaper set me back $40 It was cheaper then the $200 that Presonus's wants for their Pro upgrade.
I really dig S1 but don't dig the $200 price tag they want for the upgrade so I can use my 3rd party plugins.
