I loved the production on the guitars in the intro and 1st verse. Sounded like a wah or something on that one guitar and I think it put it in a perfect place in the mix. Perfect up until the Chorus. That ebow killed my left ear and all the vocals are mixed at the same level. Too busy for my taste though. Everything got just too loud at random times.

(I know, I sound like a dick. It was unintentional. It's hard to offer an hones opinion without coming off that way. Sorry man)

Not a problem, man. Like I said I was trying to do something rougher and a little different then the others and it may (in some cases) or may not (in other cases ) have worked. It's all good.

Hello again!

Tomorrow night at 6 pm CST here: http://www.livestream.com/bluebeaglemusic

Just log in, join the chat and watch myself and the famous (or is it infamous? ) TheMuzic as we conduct a live session where we'll talk about different mixing techniques for the tracks in this thread. One thing we noticed was that he and I both approach mixing in two very different manners, and we thought it would be a great way to show how different approaches can both yeild great results! It should be a great way to discuss some of the workflow features in Studio One that help us all out when it comes to production, mixing and other creative aspects of music production. Questions are welcome, and we hope to get a good crowd so we can get as much input and dialog as possible.

There will also be plenty of time for discussion on other topics of interest depending on what the crowd would like to discuss (and hopefully there will be a crowd!)

I know I'm looking forward to seeing as many forums folks there as we can manage!

Cheers!

If my math is correct that should be in the middle of the night shortly after the Dynamic Range webinar or so. Let's see if I'll be still awake ...

Haha, oh you'll be awake...the problem is after the dynamic range talk your loudness meter might be pegged! Maybe we'll mix some nice quiet classical music instead for you

Added to the first post here.

If you're going to be at the livestream tonight we can chat about it. I like your mix. I'll post more on it in a bit!

Ok, that's a sweet smooth mix. I really like all the levels and would change anything except a little compression on the outs to tighten it up the dynamics just a hair.

But otherwise a really nice mix!!!

GREAT!. Glad it was all useful, despite the fumbling at the beginning. Gizz really has the frequency thing down and I learned a ton just watching the replay (twice...lol) of his techniques. For as long as I've been mixing (20+ years) I never dove that far into the details.

I didn't have all that graphic stuff when I was learning and never made the effort to really look, once I had it all.

I've got a few planned for this week so stay tuned for announcements.
