Yes, remember.

As with anything, it all comes down to what you like to listen to. DAWs that I have used, I rate them for my purposes like this:

Studio One = Brighter (clean) with a strong and wide mid\bottom end
Cubase = Thinner but strong on the mids with hotter mixdowns
Sonar = Darker but with clean dynamics on the mids and lows
Acid Pro = Weak on dynamics but mixes sub lows really well

That's all I've used over the years and my conclusions are based on my point of reference (that being my ears).

Interesting cocnlusions.
I think that my mix is my style. I'm trying to avoid high frequencies (7k-20k), because it unnecessarily muddying mix. Very low too. I never think that is the cause of sonar, because I can bright mix in it.

You get interested me this. I must check it.

Yeah, it's really just what I have experienced myself as my mixing habits don't change much from DAW to DAW. So you may or may not experience it. The best way to test, is to pick some 3rd party plugins, do a simple mix of a few track and save all efx presets.

Now go into the other DAW, using the same tracks and effects and use the same presets. You might be surprised at the differences.

Synthex,

Can't listen to it right now (no access to Soundcloud at work) but I'll give it a listen as soon as I get home.

I've updated the first post in the thread with all of the links to the various mixes as well. Good to see people are still running with it!

Thanks for the notepad!!

Note: Pick up this notepad VST and take notes on the tracks (just add it to your track) as you mix, then we can all see what was going on in your crazy heads at the time.
