1. better GUI. better GUI, better GUI (still counts as one, right?)
2. layers need an upgrade. at a minimum you should be able to properly move them.
3. fix the folder, group, and track instability between mixer and arrange

Studio One is absolutely fantastic, and many features work just like they should. I can't wait to see what in store with v3!

Midi inserts/plugs ala cubase/ableton. Definitely for drums at very least. And an arp.
Song key selection, auto transpose loop files ala cubase/logic. Just a timesaver
Quick duplicate events ala logic/cubase. I just like to swipe my mouse to how far I want events to loop

The GUI thing doesn't fuss me too much, I prefer to focus on ear candy. Darker would help in long sessions I guess.

And again I point that it can be easyly fixed by making them visible in arrangement view

1. Import Session Data
2. An inch or so taller faders in the mixer (maybe as an option?)
3. The ability to update track/mixer groups (without deletig and making a new one).

1. Customize GUI

Let´s change colours and make our own skins (and exchange them).

2. Built-in Arpeggiator/Phrase Tool and Midi-FX in Track

Would be sooo much easier...

3. Auto Detect Peaks

You know what I mean...

Oh no please don't over do it like Reaper.. I say the current and a darker theme i is more then enough... love the new Capture theme!!
However let us adjust brightness of the track view and grid.

Like others I also like the PT channel color in the mixer.
But keep it simple, these things often requires more of the PC and the current theme is rely nice but a s1 version if Capture would rock.

The font management and scaling would be great as well!

1. Some sort of "Expression Maps" for midi.

2. Track Archives/Templates.

3. Either Step input or Advanced Beat Detection. I can't decide which of those 2 .

Just a quick update to chart.....
Because some cast more than 3 votes, some voted more than once and the silent majority did not vote, the statistics are off.
However the Pareto 80-20 rule does shows some areas that should be addressed to address this poles majority.

If I were the developer I would want MUCH more dialogue around the top 20%.
For example:
- Pictures or mock ups of S1 with what you think are improved GUI improvements and how it would help your workflow.
- Real-live examples, video and issues with Track arranger to Mixer channels sync behavior ( how much time you lose)
- Descriptions of exactly what you mean by templates ( define the things you want stored as part of a "Template") ( time saved)
- Describe Beat Detection needs: at the event level? song level? average? mapped? etc... ( time saved)

Just suggesting that the more you can articulate the need/gap the better chances you will get what you are missing.

1. REWORK THE AUTOMATION - I know alot you of dont mind about the current automation but coming from my view as EDM producer it feels like im working with sticks in the automation. Every thing is so rigid and hard to work with imo. Make more options for it too. I honestly can say there is no automation in the market I like other than FL's and Logic could possibly pass.

2. MORE COLOUR - Staring at grey and dull colour tracks it makes me sad, i'm not joking you haha.

3. PITCH SHIFT - Make it possible for pitch downing/shifting.

That's the idea.
To lead by examples here are a few examples for the people who want a GUI color control

For People who want a darker theme and the ability to have the track and channel colors match the event colors

For people who want a Bit of a Wig color theme

For people who just want the event , track and channels to have a matching color.

My preference.. The GUI is good

I am surprised that the #1 weakness on my SWOT report has not been heavily voted for on this thread.
"Improved Controller support" maybe people just got burned out on the request....

i wouldnt say comping is a strength tho really alot of other daws have had this for a while. also bitwig not bigwig . id say the standard macros that are available minus the macro toolbar are a big weakness for us keyboard users that want fast midi editing. or those power pro tool users who speed through a track in under 20 minutes. to correct the velocity and timing like i do i still have to use the mouse quite heavily.
i think there needs to be alot more customisation options in the options menu for advanced users. i know they want to keep it simple. but as its easy to get to know the program there should always be more than less. but presented in a way that if you want to know more/ do more you may but it shouldnt hinder the beginner.

Bigwig oops
For me comping is much easier than Sonar, and Reaper was more full featured but more complicated and work to use.
I can only compare via video to Cubase and Logic, and it seemed as good as if not simpler.
Does it need improvements? Yes. For one it does no currently support colors on MIDI comps and I believe it should have auto color schemes just like a regular tracks.

When I need to, I've been happily using AC-7 (iPad) app as a controller, and it does enough of what I need (control transport, and mixer faders). But 90% of the time, I don't even use it. I don't think I'm particularly behind the times in that regard, and most people are probably controlling S1 comfortably enough from a laptop or desktop. If true, it makes sense then that Controller Support wouldn't be much higher.

I don't see it as being in S1's top ten list of weaknesses, because it works well enough for me.
