Hello
I am considering a new midi controller to use with S1-2 Pro. I am not a great keyboardist by any means, and a good basic unit will suffice for what I do, which is mostly inputting midi notes.

I had a EMU xBoard 49 that has died and need to find a replacement. It was sufficient for what I do.
I am on a budget, and looking to spend under $200. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been using a M-Audio Oxygen 49 for over a year now and it's been good enough for what I want it for, inputting midi notes, playing the odd bass lines etc. Recommended, cheap as well.
Win 7 64bit
Studio One Professional x64 (always latest update)
Intel i5 3.30GHz overclocked @ 4.20 GHz

8GB RAM

M-Audio Oxygen 49
Akai MPD26
American Fender Stratocaster Deluxe
Retired, plenty of spare time

I've had an Evolution MK361 for years and it has served me well. I'd recommend looking at their offerings. A quick search on amazon turned up and E61 - 61 key for like $170. Anyway, hope this is helpful. Good luck with the search.

Thanks for the replies.
I've been looking at the M-Audio line.
My next question is would these work on a 64bit Win 8.1 workstation?
I am looking at the following controller, but delivery will be 1-3 months as per Amazon. Im wondering if it worth the wait.

It should, but you need to check the manufacturers pages for more info. It would probably be a better place to start. I did a quick search and couldn't find a list, but I'm sure system requirements will be listed somewhere in the documentation or FAQs section.

FWIW, I have the Maudio keystation which fills the need for the modest midi work I do. I think it still retails for around $70 USD
