I suggested to my friend studio one 2 weeks ago. Now we want buy Producer version but like me he has got ram problem

My settings
1)Hp paviliom (desktop) win7 home premium x64 i3 3,20 ghz 8 gb of ram , s1 2.6.2 x86
2)hp pavilion dv5 (laptop) win7 home basic x64 amd athlon x2 2.00 ghz 4 gb of ram, s1 2.6.0 x86

My friend spec
3)assembled pc win7 ultimate x64 amd athlon x3 3.30 ghz 8 gb of ram s1 2.6.2 demo

He encountered in my same bug as i

Studio one crash after reaching 2.6 gb of ram used (show by windows task manager) goes out of memory, even if there are at least 4 gb of ram totaly free.

I check others daw behaviour like FL, Ableton amd they all reach 4 gb of ram before crashing.
So my question is why s1 can't access at least 3.7 gb of ram (like every x86).
All those 3 system show the same problem,
i'm asking because my friend want buy s1, but he won't buy software with this huge bug.
Anyone knows of presonus has got a solution or someone has solved this???

Maybe in the 2030 will have mixer undo.

1) laptop with 4 gb of ram runs home basic with is 700 mb on ram (not) 1 gb, FL and Ableton could use up to 4 gb because win7 has can use hard drive as ram source. instead s1 can only use up to 2.6 gb

2)can't switch because 80% of my plugin are still 32 bit, 64 bit version of S1 is useless

3)i monitor ram thru windows Task Manager, witch tell me that i have got plenty of free ram

4)have already point out atleast 3.7 gb of ram but you can go up to 4 gb before application crash (try it)

2 different pc with 8 gb of ram each (tried every settings or option) can't use more than 2.6 gb, to me is a bug
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Those are screenshot of what i'm saying: FL vs S1 in ram use, FL crash at 4 gb S1 at 2.7 gb THIS IS A big BUG

Two things...

1. This system below...
hp pavilion dv5 (laptop) win7 home basic x64 amd athlon x2 2.00 ghz 4 gb of ram, s1 2.6.0 x86

... only has 4gb total ram, of which the OS is likely using 1gb, which means that 2.6 gb will be awfully close to crapping out.

2. Re: Studio One x86 running on a 64-bit OS in the second system below...

assembled pc win7 ultimate x64 amd athlon x3 3.30 ghz 8 gb of ram s1 2.6.2 demo

... has a theoretical limit of 4gb of ram, although the practical limit here for me is closer to 3.5 gb of ram as you can see below where I have 3.5 gb of samples loaded in S1 x68 on Win 7 64 and my ram meter light is blinking red ... meaning that it will soon crap out.

Note: That's what the ram meter is actually there for in x86, to let you know when you get close to running out so you don't run out and crash. Use it.

If the same holds true (the practical real world limit being somewhat below the theoretical limit) for...
hp pavilion dv5 (laptop) win7 home basic x64 amd athlon x2 2.00 ghz 4 gb of ram, s1 2.6.0 x86

... then yes, he's running out of ram at 2.6 gb being used by S1 because he only has 4gb total and the OS probably uses a 1 gb.

Not an unresolved bug.

Hope that helps.
