Hi there,
is the Audiobox VSL 22 fully USB Audio 2.0 class compliant?

Thank you!

If by "class compliant" you mean can you simply plug in and record without installing drivers then
Yes(Mac with core audio) and No(Win).

By class compliant I mean the USB Audio class 2.0 standard: http://www.usb.org/developers/devclass_docs/Audio2.0_final.zip
If an audio interface follows this standard it should be plug & play on all operating systems which "speak" this standard including Mac OS, iOS and Linux; excluding Windows as Microsoft doesn't seem to bother about any of the latest standards.

Devices which are compatible to USB Audio Class 2.0 are called class compliant. So is it or isn't it?

Did you not actually read my last post?

YES. It will work on Mac under core audio.

My question wasn't about plug & play with CoreAudio under Mac because that isn't the same as being USB Audio 2.0 class compliant. CoreAudio interfaces are always plug & play, aren't they? I want to know if this interface could possibly work also with Linux and the iPad. I don't care that it's not officially supported. If it's class compliant I should be able to make it work.

USB Audio 2.0 CC explained by RME (just in case you don't know the term): http://www.rme-audio.de/download/cc_mode_ufx_e.pdf

How many times do I need to say YES?

Google is your friend:

I have the AudioBox 22VSL and can confirm it is working perfectly in ubuntu studio 12.04. Both inputs work simultaneouly and audio output succesfully plays through the headphone jack on the box(haven't tried the 1 and 2 outs). 128 Frames/Period and 2 Periods/Buffer gives me estimated latency of 5.9 ms. I have had zero xruns since starting jack an hour ago.

Okay. To be fair you stated twice that it works with CoreAudio under Mac out of the box. That's not exactly answering the question. But now it's clear. Thanks.
