I know there was just a thread on this and couldn't find it. Maschine 2.1, studio one 2.6.2, how to make them jive properly?

So far:

open S1
add maschine
add a kit (no brainer)
group midi batch, sound to midi notes
Nothin

I don't know what the proper setup is at all and there are no instructions. I saw a web video that wasn't right at all. At least, it's not working here.

Found it. Long story short was that a, you need the controller to be in "shift/control" mode, then you need group/input/"active" and then you must select the root note.

Basically it's just easier to use the keyboard, but you still have to set to "active" in the group/input section. WHEW, I was like WTFart?

Putting the Maschine controller in MIDI mode is of course one way of controlling Maschine, but you loose a LOT of functionality. What are you trying to achieve?

Ah, OK. Yes, to control S1 with the Maschine controller, you have to put it into MIDI mode.

Yeah, it's easier to just use the keyboard. It was a 49.50 upgrade with a 25 buck voucher so I figured what the hell.

I'm so confused.

Did you want to use the Maschine 2.1 software at all?

Or the controller only?
