Hello everyone! I am mixing live tracks with guitarists/singer's amp bleeding into his vocals. A few people have suggested using melodyne to "remove" guitar from track. Possible? Anyone have any experience or suggestions to remedy this issue. Tried EQ'ing with no success.Appreciate any help. Thanks.

You can use Melodyne to edit out the sound between words or use a gate. You are rather stuck if the guitar bled all over the lead vocal. You will have to try to surgically EQ the bleed to reduce its presence.

If possible re record the vocal

Unless the bleed is completely unworkable - I would just "let it bleed".

Even with today's magic tools (ie: Melodyne) there will be artifacts when it's severe. Check out this Melodyne video where they remove the guitar from Adele's "rolling in the deep". Not bad - but far from perfect.

Thanks guys. Appreciate your thoughts. Adding some verb to the otherwise dry guitar has added some air thus beefing up the guitar to match the bleed. Surgical clipping of the vocal phrases and I can live with the results.
