I have a FirePod that I use for recoding on my iMac running Mac OS 10.8.5. I'll want to get a new iMac sometime soon, but I see two potential problems. The new iMacs don't have the Firewire interface. Also Presonus published a list of hardware that is compatible with Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks), and the Firepod and FP10 are listed as not compatible.

What are my options? I like the Firepod and would like to keep using it. If I get a new iMac, is it possible that the Firepod will work with Apple's Thunderbolt/Firewire adapter.

I'm running Cubase 6.0.7, which probably doesn't support Thunderbolt.

I'm confused about all the dependencies. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

Control Panel for the Firepod supports Mac OSX 10.3.7 - 10.7 Lion, OSX 10.8 Mt. Lion is NOT supported.
You may still be able to use it Mac core audio:

Can't say for sure tho as I'm not a Mac guy.....hopefully one our Mac users will chime in.

Thanks for the reply. It does work just fine in 10.8, I didn't even know it wasn't officially supported. I'm wondering about whether it will work with 10.9, and also whether I'll be able to make it work connected to a Thunderbolt port (through Apple's Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter).
