Couple of good threads we have going in the General Discussion Forum.
Not sure how the new forum will provide categories, but we could effectively keep some of the threads we like going which we also use and enjoy.

Would you people be in favor of continuing along with the some of the same threads, such as:
Threads to save:
>delete me (OP: skiltrip) If skiltrip unavailable, either high count contributor can restart, or whatever decided. Long as it's available.

>recent purchases... Warning: Entering this thread can have an adverse affect on your bank statement (OP: jBranam) Jay still active and would be in favor to restart I believe.

>Special Deals and Freebies (OP: sunmachine, and will restart).

>buy and sell (OP: sunmachine, and will restart)

>What are you Listening To? (OP:skip jones, still around but would need to be notified)

If the startup OP's are unaware of the new forum, we could assign some people to start the continued thread. Of course the old thread could easily then be archived since it will have the same name (nice right?).

Just thinking ahead. Would you folks be on board with this.

A simple or will do or add your thoughts. Note: any to "delete me" will be ignored.

Note: naturally some of the logical forum themes will just happen (S1 with Melodyne, free VST's, etc.), so we don't need to infiltrate the general post with all those threads. This is strictly a general post concept.

Whatya think?
Sure, we could guess that will just happen, but it would good to have a heads up game plan. Besides archiving would be easy.
Maybe when the new thread is formed, drop a hyper link in the original post of the old archive right there. Sound reasonable?

Edited: added names of OP's.

Exactly what I was wondering, too
I'll create new threads of the two from your list that I started:
Special Deals and Freebies
buy and sell

However, the one and only delete me should be migrated entirely to the new forum IMO!

I'll also start a new one for Post Pics of your Studio and add the link to the archived thread.

Yeah, this is just so we have some familiar ground, right out of the gate.

Who knows, they (Presonus) may opt to fill the first few pages, with the last few here. Just dunno.

If a few of us have a system in place, bang. We go in and setup shop right away, and there's no interruption (to our dialogue or antics, whichever comes first).

Good, so this is a go, just in case. What a group!

Who's better than us.

I did have another question too.....I hope "archived" is easily search-able One of the reasons I don't ask a lot of questions here is because I almost always find what I need with a search.

Undersood. That's why I suggested whoever starts the new thread, add the link to the initial thread. Typically just link the first page. That way, the link or archive is right there. Ka-ching!

I'll get an IM out to skip jones, so he knows what is going on. I'm simply giving the option to the OP to have restart honors. .

I suspect the delete me will just have to pick up, so it would be appropriate to copy the first OP's thread in. Place a "continued from page XXX" (with link) and just add to it. That's my guess. Then it at least has some continuity.

I vote Christofe to start that thread up. He's been an avid contributor to it.

I'll follow along with whatever you guys want. I don't know if mom's surgery will be early in the morning or what yet. Usually I cruise the forums when I get up, not that that is important, but there is a good chance I'll be behind the curve

Hey man, you just concentrate on your mom and her recovery. You are a part of that recovery.
We'll be fine, and say a prayer.
God Bless.

This is an opinion from me who's in a minority here. It depends on the size of the new picture that will appear at the top of the page, but in S1 forums I'd only like to see threads on S1. I don't read the threads listed in the original post here and having to move to the second page just because half of the first page is filled with the big picture, stickies and threads on other topics is a hassle. I assume the new forum software will finally work fine on my Android phone, but I'll probably have to move to the second page every time I visit the site because a few or more non-S1 threads will appear on the first page almost all the time (if a feature to hide a thread is added I'll probably be ok, though). Also, I want General Discussion, Tips and Tricks, FAQ and Forum Community Support to be merged into a single forum, as I requested before.
