Can't seem to get a definitive answer here.

I recently purchased a Presonus Studiolive 24.4.2 mixing console which I use for live sound.

I want to record live shows via Capture into my iMac, which runs Mountain Lion (10.8.5) but there's no Firewire port, only thunderbolt and ethernet.

Adapters for thunderbolt to firewire are $30 - but before I buy it I want to make sure it will work.

Does anyone have any experience with this? What about adapters for ethernet to firewire?

Thanks!

I use the adapter to connect my Saffire to my MacBook. I have had great results, recording as many as 8 simultaneous tracks while playing at least that many.

I use my MacBook Pro with an Apple adapter Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 and a Bi-lingual Firewire 800 to 400 Cable sometimes with the 24.4.2 when I need the 800 for Harddisks ect. with no problems.

I have never heard that ethernet could work and in the manual it's not mentioned there either as a possibillity for connection.

As a user, I have used the Apple Thunderbolt-to-FireWire adapter for my StudioLive 16.4.2 several times with no problem whatsoever. In fact, I only bought the adapter to test it - I have a FireWire 800 port on my MacBook Pro that I normally use.

EDIT: Here's where I got mine http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD464ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapter?fnode=51
