Now I have 2 folders with identical wav files but one folder is labelled acid and the other folder wav. Which do I keep wav or acid, I mean is one preferable to the other. I know that acid files have more info in them like tempo etc.

Acid wavs are "regular" wavs that have meta-data in them to make them easily adaptable to time changes.
Non-acidized wavs are, just wav files.

In short - wavs are for just playing, and acid wavs are for playing AND manipulating

So, to answer your question: If the software you use can read and manipulate acidized files, then you don't need the regular wavs and can free up space by getting rid of them.
However, there are some programs that do Not read acidized wavs, so you'd need the regular wavs to play in those.

I think . . .

.Hey! I just noticed that you live in Mad-Chester.
Some REALLY great music comes/came from that place.
