It would be sick if you incorporated the Smaart feature into studio one.

Well...

You have a Tone Generator plugin.

You have a Pro EQ plugin.

You have a Spectrum Analyzer plugin.

With proper routing, you could do your own "Smaart-like" feature.

I guess you're right. I should've been more specific. Something along the lines of the Arc2. I would need more of a graphic type eq to fine tune.

Got it! Thanks! I currently use the KRK Ergo but it has been discontinued. So far it's been working fine. I have heard horror stories so I'm just researching for a replacement system.

From what I've read - the KRK Ergo system is a pretty neat little black box - however as the disclaimer states 'although the stereo image and sound at the listening position may improve, the surrounding areas may sound drastically worse as a result of the process' - one review I read also said '600$ can buy you a lot of sound treatment' - I'm not sure how true that statement is, but I appreciate the concept of making thoughtful and calculated descisions, over just putting a 'magic black box' (as the reviewer calls it) in the signal path.

If I were you, I would just use the full version of smaart (or the demo wink wink) and measure the transfer function of each of my studio monitors. Then, I would use an outboard parametric eq (or system processor) to match the speakers in time, level, and response at the listening position. I would also physical measure the distance from the two speakers, and my head to make sure that I have a perfectly equilateral triangle. Call me old fashioned, but I gravitate towards a more human approach, using the analyzer to verify my decisions, not make my decisions for me. A lot of those "horror stories" you've heard are most likely results of the system making 'corrections' that are unwarranted, and obvious errors to a trained listener/engineer.

I have treatment up but its as much as i can put up without messing up my living situation. The ergo worked well but I want something nicer than an obsolete piece of gear. Arc 2 seems cool to help out with the rest but I hate the fact that it is software and not in a hardware form. I mix out of the box.
