Hello:

I wanted to use the Presonus Firestudio as an input (digital) to an iPad 2, specifically to record tracks into Loopy. Is this possible?

Thanks!

No. FireStudio devices need FireWire.

Look into the AudioBox devices...

Thanks...I also got a new Macbook, (with no Firewire). Should Firestudio work o.k. with it if I get a Firewire to Lightning converter?

Also, for plugging into iPad with AudioBox, looks like I will need to get an extra USB to 30-pin connector (iPad2) separately, correct?

Their thunderbolt to FireWire adapter works just fine.

As for the iPad, get the camera connection kit. It basically gives you a USB port that will work for some USB interfaces. Do your research first...
