I'm trying to Daisy Chain 2 FireStudio Projects for 12 mics on my drum kit. When monitoring, how can I hear all of the mics since 8 are in one FireStudio Project and 4 in the other? Seems I can only plug my In Ear Monitors in one or the other?

Thanks!

hey Gina
I think you will have to use the spdif out from one into the other
That way the 4 mics in the other will be streamed into the 1st FSP for monitoring
Hopes this helps

Um ….Can you help explain the SDPIF for me? I have a Firewire going from one unit to the other and I have "Blue Lights" on each unit. Both units have the software up to date as well.

Thanx!

Hey again

I don't have any FSP's, only FS Mobile - But to get the sound from the second to the 1st for monitoring through the 1st unit,
You have to activate the s/pdif in both units through your software, then a cable from s/pdif out from the 2nd unit to s/pdif in
on the first.
This way you can monitor all channels through the 1st unit as you normally would with headphones
Else you would have to go through the computer and back out to the soundcard and monitor with the latency and all
which I don't think you want to while playing
With the s/pdif like that, it would be 0 latency monitoring

Edit: this is the only way I can see on how to do that with 0 latency

Here is a little youtube video that explains it quite well

Okay, I'm still having some problems.

1.) I have blue lights. But, now neither one of the headphone jacks is working? I hear music out of the MacBook Pro but no sound going into the Presonus? Both headphone volumes are up at about 9:00.

2.) I'm not sure what to set the Universal Control Clock Source to? I have FireStudio Project Master and FireStudio Project 2 Master or FireStudio Project SPDIF or FireStudio Project 2 SPDIF ?

1) Sounds like you are not routing output to the FireStudios. Go to the song setup under preferences and see what device is selected.

2) I never changed my clock source so I can't help with this one.

Thanks! That was the problem! I guess I was just looking too hard and it was right in front of me?

My clock source says 48kHz. I noticed in a video that someone's said 44.1kHz. There are two other settings as well. I'm not sure if you just let it default or is it better to clock it faster? I may post this as a separate topic?….

Thanks again for the help!

Set the sample rate to whatever sample rate you want. That is a whole different discussion!
