Wow...Bought it 3 weeks ago. It hasn't been moved from my home studio, under absolutely no stress as I used it only with my synth/workstation through a stereo set of channels, and out to powered speaker mains. Gains were meticulously set and the unit is in a smoke-free air conditioned environment. It didn't overheat, it just shut down all of a sudden while idle, and won't turn on anymore.

That's really not what I expected from a $3k board . I don't know how widespread this problem is, but I'm thinking I won't ever be able to trust this mixer in a live situation (which is the principle reason I bought it). I could have spent a lot less and at least had reliability.

I looked in the manual, and on the unit. I didn't blow a fuse, or if I did, nowhere can I find in the manual where it is, and how to change it. As far as I can tell, it doesn't have one. I'm thinking the power supply must have failed, but that's just an uneducated guess.

This is really upsetting, because I've spent 5 months putting together some great musicians. Our first rehearsal in a brand new studio was set for April 5th (next weekend). Now this. Very disappointing.

Anyway, thanks for listening~ sorry for the rant.

Yes, I opened a ticket, but it was after hours Fri., so I don't expect anyone to tell me to box it up and ship it back where I bought it until monday...

Thanks for the suggest though!

Well, if I ever wondered why I paid a wee bit more and bought from Sweetwater, I don't anymore. Just called my Rep, who just "happened" to be working this Saturday morning, who put me right through to tech support (again on Saturday morning), who listened to my situation for about 30 seconds, and said, that sux, a new one is on it's way, and should be here by Wednesday, with a return label in the box for me to return the defective unit. End of story, hands down the best customer service I have had in many years.

I love the features and usability of this mixer. I'm "hoping" the replacement will be reliable. Stuff does happen, and maybe my "faith" in it will return over the long haul. Time will tell.

Please post what they report has failed... My GUESS would be the inrush current limiter NTC thermister... One of my boards had one that was cracked. I also found an unsoldered joint at the input rectifier module.

You'll have to ask Presonus. The vendor had me box it up and send it back as defective (replaced). I don't expect to hear anything on what the cause was.
