Yeah, we do. But they never answer that question so repeatedly asking is pretty pointless. This below, like what Steinberg does, is about as much info as you'll ever get from a major DAW company on a new release...
Steinberg has announced Nuendo 6.5, the upcoming new version of Nuendo, expected to be released in Q3 2014
That's... "anytime between July 1 and September 31" and even there they were very careful to use the word "expected".

To be honest I definitely prefer to get a vague official statement like that than this silence...matter of taste

Yeah, we kinda already got that, when the guy in the video said, "later this summer".

well, I was thinking of something a little more official...such as two lines here in the forum, or a banner in homepage, you know, as Steinberg usually does with their "expected" releases.

A major release falls in the proprietary secrets category for sales purposes, unexpected circumstance vetting and to secure new features from being disclosed to remain competitive .

It is to be expected that the nearer to the release candidate the marketing department will gear up and announce a pre sale a month or so before the release to generate enthusiasm and highlight a new feature or two, Presonus is no different in that method than anyone else.

Has the "Interested in Beta Testing?" topic been there all along? There is action since 2011, but I just noticed it the other day. In all fairness I am not the most observant person.

Has anyone stopped to think that there has been no announcement because there's nothing coming yet? And the guy that announced version 3 was coming this year was misinformed.

Well there it is

Still, I don't do music 24/7 (though it feels like I never sleep) so I'll continue to post in these threads.

Johnny has been honest about releases.

I do think it just popped back up again. I noticed it's closed (which is good in a way) and they give you very specific details about how to apply. I'm not interested personally. I do wish there were public betas of RC's like live has so that you can give it the once over.

Well no, I haven't stopped to think that because Byron who does most of of the Studio One tutorials for Presonus states after the NAMM show (in Frankfurt) he's going to Hamburg to "meet with the guys on what we've got so far, and what we want to put into it" specifically about Studio One version 3. He's not going there because he thinks he's a doughnut (inside joke) or a Hamburger. He gives a general time frame of "Later this summer, ya know, later in the year".

He understandably "can't really talk about that". I appreciate that. I like Byron and appreciate his candor. I hope he didn't get into trouble by dropping some inside info, but it's also quite possible, that such information to that point was acceptable, or even suggested. We just don't know. I've been to enough audio engineering conventions (since 78', on) to know this happens with company reps. It's what we consumers or related industry associates hope to get info on.

What we also know is nothing is official, and that's why while we are joking just bit in this thread which can hardly by deemed serious when not one person knows anything about the issue except bottom feed from this video. We can at least relish in knowing something is going down with Studio One version 3, and we sort of have a time frame. No, I don't think Byron was misinformed.

I cannot reveal much of what I know about version 3, only that at the start page there will be a countdown timer for the version 4 release.

Yeah. I would take his comment as being 'suggestively meaningful'.

We on the outside will never know what's coming. Most probably won't care if it's named v3 or 2.72, they just want more "new shiny stuff".
