For "some" it really is just that simple, they cannot resist the next new thing. I don't think I said that applies to everyone. It only applies where it applies.

No comment about daw users ever applies to all daw users.

THANK YOU!

I had resurrected a thread because of this and there it is! Again, much appreciation!

Yes, indeed.

It's also quite easy (and advisable) to always keep one or two previous versions of the S1 installer -- say, in a designated folder on your Desktop or a thumb drive. Drive space is cheap these days, and it's not like the installer file is huge anyway (There's no need to back up the sound sets).

See, I thought I had it, but turns out it was 2.5 (not .1 or .2) But yes, I generally back things up.

You probably do have it unless you emptied your system trash recently.

I peeked in the trash on my studio system before emptying it and there were about 7 installer rsions in there.

Good to know that while it's a real drag when instability knocks, that some of the users shared such experience to warn others, and even hung with your DAW as best as you could. It's perfectly understandable to look elsewhere if you're having problems, and even if you just feel like trying something else, that could be just the inspiration one needs. Now who's going to tell you otherwise?

The only rule is that there are no rules. If some people comment that departers (or ship jumpers) be a little cautious moving on to something else, they're simply providing what they feel has some validity. They've probably experienced this themselves, so it's really with good intention.

Only that single person knows what they would like to explore. It can get a bit pricey DAW hopping, so make your choices count!

To be fair, I know that there are always people who have have technical issues (with all software, for various different reasons, some issues which show up later after a demo) , and that some people also approach different types of projects where it's clear that another tool would get the job done faster. No real doubt about that. This is why I own FL Studio... it does certain things much better than S1.

I do find it hard to grasp the idea that anyone would spend $400 on software they demoed and liked and then just completely stop using it... short of something brand new and much more tailored to their particular needs shows up, like Bitwig. I do get that. If or when they ever release it I can certainly see a small part of that demographic putting S1 down for it, assuming it works as advertised.

What I don't get is jumping around on every existing product major update. I know what Cubase and Logic and Sonar and all those things do. If I wanted those tools as supplements I'd be using them already. If Samp adds some cool new feature I'm not going to just jump over.

I've already jumped ship from another DAW.
studioone is my life boat. LOL

I use multiple DAWs each one having their own strengths and weakness' . We can only work within the boundaries of what each daw does. any DAW bugs aside, I don't feel inhibited in any DAW. i just work with what I got. any try to think "how can I accomplish this task" instead if saying "why doesn't this DAW work the way I think it should."
in my life, I've heard too many people say "why doesn't this computer work the way I want." ..... I say nothing.

Finally. Analog tape units are coming back! All this technology is for cowards losers. I can produce a better CD with 8 audio tracks and one reverb unit than any of you can with $1,000,000 of Pro Tools gear. Don't think so? Then blow me a kiss!
