Version 1.6 of Studio One is now available in your user accounts. Please read the 1.6 Manual Addendum, as some information in the Reference Manual has become obsolete.

Among the updates listed below, some users will see increased performance due to improvements made with our multiprocessing support. In particular, where the audio routing is complex (ie; lots of buses, nested buses, virtual instruments with multiple outputs, etc) you should see significant improvement in performance.

The Studio One Pro and Studio One Artist 1.6.0 update includes the following enhancements:
=====================================================================================

- Chinese translation
- Free audio routing in mixer
- Rex file support in 64-bit Studio One versions
- Mackie HUI Support
- All Input support for instrument tracks
- Transmit option for learned controllers in Control Link
- Export settings saved
- Loop option for MTC in the Advanced MIDI options
- Resizing Modifier for Note Editor CMD: same length ALT: same position
- Autosave is now on per default

The Studio One Pro and Studio One Artist 1.6.0 update fixes the following issues:
=================================================================================

- Transpose command limited to 36 in Editor
- MTC could stutter
- Legato and Retrigger have no function in Mojito
- [Windows] Some CD Drives not working in Project page
- Project length calculation wrong when disabling last track
- Crash when removing Control Link device
- FF and Rewind now supported on MMC devices
- [OSX] Keyboard focus issues
- [OSX] Ctrl did not work
- ISRC not transferred from Project to Sound Cloud client
- Color selector preview not working for Event colors
- Some AU Plugin GUIs not updated
- Add Automation track dialog does not take name and position into account
- The new song folder is not completely removed when the new song is not saved
- Hanging note in Presence with activated Glide
- Presence can crackle at sample start
- Presence delay is off beat
- [OSX-64bit] Room Reverb is missing reverb tail
- Digital export in Project can create defect files when sample rate is different
- Slip editing not working correctly with Edit Groups
- Popup menus are placed on wrong monitor
- Pool not updated when renaming track
- Wrong media folder used after using "Save new Version"

Ditto!

Any possibility you might be able to give us a general heads up on what we might be able to look forward to in v. 2? I'm not so concerned about the time frame but to be honest I am still somewhat holding off using S1 exclusively not knowing if some of the features I truly need will be incorporated this year. If they are in the works I'll plow through for now and wait. However, for the moment I'm still primarily using other DAW's...even though I love S1!

Thanks,

~C

Jonathon has answered this already in fact. They have no plans to divulge anything about V2 until it's closer to that time and a few more V1 updates are complete. We should be happy with what's in 1.6 right now

Well that answers that.

My post honestly had nothing to do with being not happy about the release. So far Presonus has been the quickest to release updates and more attentive to it's user base than any other DAW out there. My post has more to do with being productive. I truly enjoy S1 for what it is, but what it is actually needs to grow a little for it to be a viable replacement for my Logic/PT, and Ableton workflow. If they came out with a matrix cell based tool similar to what Ableton is as well as some of the other often requested features ie folder tracks etc. I'd never look back.

Either way, not too big of a deal, what I use works well....I think S1 sounds better but to the majority of the listening audience they'd never know the difference between S1 and Reason, they just know if they like it or not. Discerning between fidelity, workflow, and DAW workflow etc. is of course more for the engineer, producer, and artist out there using them. But I truly think Presonus is going in a direction that could quickly take them to where the top DAW's are at now, but some of that will be determined by how big their user base and popularity grows. I feel that there are many like me who own and use S1 but more as a novelty or boutique software and are waiting to see if it can meet all the needs their other DAW's fulfill. I want this DAW to succeed, love it and the company.

Instead of wishing PreSonus would tell you want they are doing maybe you should start a tread about what it is that doesnt make you a happy camper.

Are you being sarcastic or actually interested.

I think I've posted enough on both the general forum and the future feature request threads for the enhancements I'd personally like to see to be apparent to the Presonus team, but I'm not all that interested in defending myself on forums, it's a waste of time. But like I said, I'm more than happy with the work and progress Presonus and S1 is making it is just not at the stage I personally need it to be to replace my other tools, which is in the end all a DAW is, a tool. This particular tool though is being created by a pretty great group of developers whom have garnered from me more loyalty as a company than any of the others out there. I don't think Jonathon would feel in the least slighted by my post. I was just curious what they could let us know.

Ok ok ok ok fellas!!

Let's calm down here a little bit. I understand both sides concerns and point of view as they are mine as well and "bigcohoona" I hear where you're coming from mate. But I think, Let's just enjoy this Final Release 1.6 and walk through and be together with S1 Team so we can have the most wanted Features and Add-ons to happen and see the light for S1 Vers 2.0

And mostly not get each other into some crazy post responses. Let's just stay cool and keep our coolness.

Quick note, those who have the latest RC3 release of 1.6, is it important for us to download this version or we can just keep the one we already have?

Thanx a lot and Good job again S1 Team and Presonus

Cheers

Hear ya,

If my post came across in any way emotionally elevated, I can promise you it wasn't intended...writing on forums is always so subjective to how the individual takes your post combined with your ability to communicate your intended message.

and I heartily agree and second the "Thanx a lot and Good job S1 Team and Presonus"!

You're absolutely right mate, that is why i was saying that let's "chilax" a bit because you now sometimes we can write something and can be totally interpreted differently by a second or third party right? I think we're all on the same page!!!

Cheers mate

Guys it's nice to add the all inputs to the "In" section, but what really is needed is the "Out" or "To" section,
we are still limited to 1 to 16 and there is no "Omni" or "Any" .

Usage : let's say that i have 5 instruments on one KONTAKT instance, and i would like to assign a controller to control all the 5 channels at once , in the recent way i"ll have to assign another 5 empty channels with separate controls and draw an automation for each individual channel.

Take a look at a the very simple edition of Cubase and you'll find it , it's very simple : All in and control All channels in the instrument (in case of an external instrument or multi instruments in one instance of a software synth/sampler).

If you're referring to manipulating ReWire channels as mono/stereo pairs, we're working on it. And again, it's not a bug...it's a limitation of ReWire itself that we have to work around.
