You know, I look around at some post when there are some instability issues with our software, and immediately there are comparisons to other softwares, ie.other daws. People want the perfect software, which I understand as we have shelled out hundreds of dollars for the company Presonus. Let's stick with the best software on the planet instead of jumping shop or talking on what other softwares have. There are some instabilities with s1 now but I'm sure they are working on it. Cheers

I've never considered it, reading all these comments about moving to Logic X amazes me at how quickly people just want to jump without playing the long game.

I think such ship jumpers or threateners to leave to another DAW are simply fair weather fans and not someone who is very dedicated to their craft (though they'll deny this to no end). I haven't seen too many such ship jumpers but yes a few exist. Why even care really? We who know the pros & cons and have weighed our DAW of choice out with serious conviction. I guess the point is really "Do you presently make music with the DAW you're using now? Do you find the workflow and stability, quick startup time, etc allow you to write more efficiently, fluently? If not, then just go......why tell the world about it? First off, we don't care and secondly, we're too busy enjoying a good thing right now. Just my opinion. This would be considered the nice version.

Some people just value stability more than others. I like S1 and I'm not planning to switch DAWs again any time soon, but these fanboy threads crack me up.

I have a contrary opinion from the OP.

I think people who aren't happy should make themselves happy. If that means using another product, go for it. And when you get there, suggest that the unhappy people there should do the same, move on to something that will make them happy.

If we all do that... nobody will ever complain much on forums anymore about the next new flashy thing in DAW X ('It's critical dude!) since everyone will be happy with what they're using.

Of course.... some people are perpetually unhappy so.... exceptions noted where they apply.

Yes, I would agree that everyone should seek happiness where they can best find it. Having come to S1 from Sonar for reasons of unhappiness, I must concur with my colleague, LMike.

I found no good in complaining and being perpetually frustrated with X1, and decided that it was up to me to become productive, by taking the initiative to buy a product that would enable me to get some work done. I still have options if I want to use Sonar, but I've found that S1 gets the job done for me.

Lol. Comparable to my signature, a quote from Groucho Marx "Any club that would have me as a member, I don't want anything to do with."

Keeping this light (as how can we not), why not just play MUSICAL DAW's. When the music stops, or in this case, productivity stops, just run like hell to the nearest available chair, err ummm DAW.

Let's all just hold hands across the water, and sing coombaya.....

Hey everybody's intention and opinions in this thread are good, and that makes for a good forum.

NOW GET BACK TO THE MUSIC!

Threatening to leave makes no sense and makes me look at people like they just want some attention.

Either stay or leave. It's not a difficult choice.

As a way off topic side note (....why waste a new thread....) , the S1 web page redesign is nice. Whoever did it, good job.

I think though that you've seen enough of these that you understand some people get pawned by bugs and other issues. LSS, it wasn't until almost about a year ago (yep, it's been that long!) that I started to be happy. It wasn't not knowing how to use the product, shit just didn't work. If something doesn't work there is no psychosis involved in just wanting a new toy. I think there are many who don't (or maybe don't want to) understand this.

@this release. It's been mostly pretty good. Everyone knows what my biggest complaint is (cpu, no, I won't ever stop) but outside of that it's a pretty complete host for a basic guy like me.

If you have the ability to, why not have Multiple workspaces, meaning different daws to work in? I do, as well as countless others.. Different flavors never hurt imo..

Being stuck to one workflow, is a bit like limiting to yourself to One Synth, or One Guitar, Drumkit, never tasting what other flavors are out there, seems counterproductive..

it's all about what sparks creativity, don't mind the naysayers, but don't doubt there are indeed other possibilities out there.

Use what makes you happy, and make good music.

Now in my opinion, people who threaten to leave Studio One are sub-human losers with too few brain cells to tie a pair of shoes. They should all be collected, put into a single room and devoured by 17 toothless poodles. There should be a test for unborn children that have, even a slight possibility of ever using Pro Tools so they can institutionalized right away.

Just my opinion
