I recently added a Faderport to my setup. It works fine, but now my midi keyboard shows as 'not connected'. It was working fine just prior to adding Faderport (maybe coincidence). I switched USB cables, switched USB inputs .... nothing. It shows in midi edit window but shows 'not connected'. Anyone have any ideas of what else I can try? Can't be usb cord because it works with Faderport, the keyboard has all regular lights on etc. so I doubt the keyboard suddely died (Edirol P50 by the way). Driver conflict? I don't know.
Any Ideas welcome!

You may have too many midi drivers installed al together.
Try downloading Korg's Driver Utility tool (it should work for any of their driver tools but.. I know for a fact the Kaossiliator Pro driver will help)
Install that.
Then... run the Uninstaller.
From the uninstaller, it gives you an option to remove all midi drivers in your system, not just the Korg ones. Very useful. Untick the option so you can view all drivers, and then get rid of some of the drivers... see if that helps.
Good luck. it's worth a shot, b/c I believe Windows has some weird limitations on midi drivers. They get a little screwy when you have beyond a certain amount (i think it's 9 or something like that)

Yeah. Hope it works out for you.
I had a similar issue with my Korg padKontrol after I installed a few extra items. Got rid of something I didn't need and then the issue went away. I think the order in which they are installed re-prioritizes them, but i'm not sure. Anyway, good luck.

Still having no luck. I downloaded that Korg uninstaller but when I get to page where you can check off drivers to be uninstalled, they are all grayed out and I can't select any. So .... and went in and deleted any Edirol stuff I could find on drive. That made it even disappear in S1 external device list, so I restored all of that because there was no way to tell what was a driver or what (at least I couldn't tell).
Last time I tried reinstalling edirol driver the external device menu said cant find Port.

You doubt it? Have you tested it without the Faderport attached?
If that fails, power everything off, remove the AC power cord from PC, then hold in power button for a few seconds. This will drain static (residue) electricity from mainboard. Then plug AC cord back, power it up as normal and test again (Believe it or not, this has solved a few weird problems for me over the years).
Good luck.

I did test it without Faderport, no luck. I'll try powering off computer thing. And Johnny, I believe I tried creating the external device (you pick New Keyboard and name it and chose the receive from?). As far as IRQ issue.....what is that ....I think I had to get a shot for that back in college. What specs do you need? Thanks for the help guys!

We should hook up. I'm pretty sure I could get you going if I saw it. email me and we can skype or Teamviewer.
I'm still having this problem. Actually got a different keyboard off ebay thinking might be bad drivers with Edirol (Presonus tech support concluded this basically being unable to fix problem). Same Problem. Not Connected. Sometimes appears in Receive from drop down , sometimes not. Is this a computer (windows 7 midi) or Studio One? I'm still looking for any ideas somebody may have. This is getting really annoying.
Thanks

but the thing is it didn't stop working until he hooked up the faderport.
call me crazy, but is there any possibility that you simply need to add a new device under "add device" in options? I mean, it recognizes maschine here for example, but I don't have maschine set up in studio one, thus it says "not connected"
