You sell a program for 100 dollars and don't offer plugin support, one of the most basic functions next to the record button? Even Audacity has that and that's free, same with Reaper. In other words you want me to shell out an additional 300 hundred dollars so that I can use my interface properly? That's incredibly ridiculous not to mention greedy.

Bottom line. I'm not a producer, I don't own a studio, I don't have 300 dollars to just throw at a program.
I'm a musician, I need software for recording and making a few touches here and there, to do this I need the basic plugins my interface comes with, you know the ones that I actually know how to use because I don't have the time or the care to mess with all the other crap.

Well thanks for nothing, thank god I don't have anymore of your products, you seem like the type of company that would make the costumer buy the inputs and dials for their interface separately.

Sincerely,
Your Biggest Fan.

Really?!

I grew up in the 60's and 70's when $300 would buy you a nice guitar, and that is it. If you wanted to record, you went to a studio and paid a good chunk of money, because you couldn't possibly afford a fraction of the cost of the gear involved. When you think about it, you are getting an awful lot of power and sophistication for that $100 -- stuff we couldn't have dreamt of 30-40 years ago. And, I don't think they hide the fact that the lighter version does not support 3rd party plug-ins. Nothing personal, but if you don't like it, go use another program, or better yet: go code your own DAW software and lets see how that works out for you. Sheesh -- get over it -- there is a cost involved to this stuff. (Don't let the door hit you in the but on the way out.)

This is almost as good as the one thread we had at KVR today.

and on a serious note, I think you should try reaper. The "demo" is w/o any real restrictions.

BTW, on a second serious note, I got my producer version of S1 for 99 bucks from artist version one, so you don't HAVE to pay 300. I'm perfectly happy with the producer version fwiw.

Or as was already suggested - read the differences in the versions to clearly see which versions support 3rd party VSTs. Here - I'll even give you the link in case anyone else has this issue:

Version comparison is at the bottom of the page. Thanks for stopping by...
