Hello all!

I've purchased the Studiolive 16.0.2; now I'm trying to get it working, but without success.

1. I've been using the FireStudio Project as my audio interface, now after switching to the Studiolive, My iMac wont realize the chance, and still showing up the FireStudio as the driver (I've got the latest Universal Control installed!). So the question is: HOW CAN I SET UP THE AUDIO OUTPUT to STUDIOLIVE, and to control the Volume by the MAIN fader?

2. HOW CAN I SET UP the STUDIOLIVE in LOGIC PRO 9?
I've gone to Preferences - audio, and under Core Audio, it's still listed as Presonus FireStudio, but not the Studiolive.
And then, when I create the tracks, all the audio files of all tracks played and controlled only by channel 1&2 on the Console. How can I set up so that each channel will control each track in Logic, and then have the Main out fader to control the out?

Please help me since I'm having some recording sessions tomorrow!!! Very important!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you in advance!!

I don't know about Logic, but the Studio live mixer defaults the 2 track return to channels 1, and 2.. if you open universal control and go to the output router under WDM you can drag and drop the inputs 1&2 to 17 and 18...

The Studio live mixer series is a Firestudio series device and will show up as that and NOT the Studiolive....

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Now I understood the default return setting to be channel 1 & 2 on the StudioLive. I'm able to play music through the console and control by the main mix fader now.

Do you have any idea on setting the console in your DAW? For example, I will have 16 tracks in the DAW, and each channel on the StudioLive will control one track. Since everything is now controlled by the channel 1 & 2, and if I have a wav file on other tracks, the channels on the console wouldn't take any effect I make.

I'm sorry I can't help you setting up your mixer with Logic, but if you really need something to get you going for tomorrow.... consider using capture, or StudioOne, get the material recorded, then later import into Logic.

As a matter of fact, I'd start my trouble-shooting by setting it up with StudioOne. find out what's what, then apply what you've learned to Logic.

Thank you for your time, mate! I appreciate it! I've been with Logic for long, and beside that I've never tried Studio One (even though I know it's a great DAW).
If you have any solution for my question, please continue helping.
Anh I also need more assistance from the Gurus here Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

it's pretty easy. Hit all Firewire Return Buttons on your SL. In Logic you can assign every track in the Mixer to every output on the desk. If it is a stereo track, you can choose pairs, ie. 1-2 or 3-4. Mono Tracks can be assigned to individual channels.

You'll find the setting above the Faders in Logics mixing environment. The first one is for Input and the second one for Output assignments.

Thank you!!!! I've got it working! But these are some more questions I would really need your help:

1. The talk-back Mic is not working at all: All levels (back and front) are max. Hit the Talk button, and hear no sound! I've tested the mic in a channel, it worked.

2. How to send FX to a channel? I've followed the Tutorial on the Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 page but without success. In the Digital FX (on my SL) i page down to page 4, it's doesn't show up the EF send to AUX option. I would love to use the SL Fx when recording but not the Logic Pro plugin fx.

Thank you in advance, and please be patient with me, since I'm very new to this!!

The Talkback Mic just works on the AUX outputs, not Main or Control Room.

If you want to record the effects of the SL along with the signal, press the Post Button (Dig out) between the Gate and Compressor buttons.

If you want to send a channel to the desk and record it again with the SL effects, you'll have to route the Main output to digital output 15/16. This has to be done in VSL.

With the SL 16.0.2 it is not possible to record the AUX sends. Just channels 1-16.

wow! That was quick! Thank you so much for the imfomation.

How can I assign fx to the channel, not the Aux?
I mean, if I have the channel 3 to be the vocal recording, and I want to add a bit of Reverb into that channel, How would I do that?

In this case (AUX effects) you'll have to assign the MAIN channel to channels 15/16 in VSL and record the MAIN channel.
To route the AUX effects to the main channel just press the MAIN button in the FXA or FXB return section. There is no possibility to assign them directly to a channel for recording, just Main to 15/16.
