I have a 24.4.2 right now, and it works great for what I need. Case kept, never had a bit of problem out of it (knock on wood), and after working a local venue with it, the owner wants one to replace his aging Mackie SR24.4. I've never really needed more than 16 channels for a band so far, but with my new rig coming in, I may get shows that require that, not sure. Plus, the 4 additional aux sends will be nice when I want to go to IEM's or at least pick up a few. I have also had plans to have a secondary smaller system for rent and just used the 24.4.2 for that system, but don't have a need for it right now (as of yet)...I told the venue owner if I do sell, it's going to be for a good chunk of the new board (but no more than typical used or new value of a Studiolive), and he didn't mind helping me out as well as helping himself out. The main benefit I see is going to be the added wireless networking, that way I don't have to carry around a wireless router for control. That will definitely help a lot, and reduce how much stuff I need to have.

So, in a nutshell, if you guys had a chance to upgrade to the 32.4.2AI, would you do it? Like I said, 32 channels is a bit overkill, but this system will be used for a lot of different shows, plus that also gives headroom for recording and mixing down, if I want to get fancy with it.

I would not. If I needed to expand, I would look at alternatives.

I can not wait to get the SL32Ai. I love my SL24 but i would like to have mute groups and quick scenes. The main reason i want the SL32Ai is the new Presonus Ai speakers. I think the SL32AI with the Ai speaker setup will be far superior then almost anything out there. You would have to spend soooooooooo much more money to get another integrated networkable sound system. I plan on buying four subs and two tops ASAP. I will have to wait to hear the difference between the 315AI and the 328AI before i make a final decision. It is killing me to wait. I expect there to be a few bugs in the first release as with any product with any sophistication. You won't hear me cry about it. They will fix it up. Then later they most likely will have any update or two that adds even more features. The thing will get better and better but we only have to buy it once.

Not so sure that the bugs will be that bad. Most of the basis for all of these new pieces are already on other devices.

The Speakers are very similar to proven designs by fulcrum acoustics. I'm not overly worried about them.

The mixer is also very very similar to the MKI in its hardware so there is a definite plus in those aspects.

Though I understand your desire to be a little bit hesitant.

There is nothing that will have me hesitating. I have already saved the money (because I have been waiting so long). Good point about Fulcrum. Check out the cost difference. I do understand the Fulcrum product is higher end then what the Presonus speaker line is going to be, but I could never afford a complete Fulcrum speaker system personally. I think the Presonus speakers will be the next best thing but at a much lower price. My point about the bugs is that some people will complain like crazy if it is not perfect right out of the box. My experience is that all new products have room for improvement. Still that won’t stop me from buying the first batch. Even if everything turns out perfect, Presonus will still most likely come out with later updates that add new features. I was happy with my SL24 then they added Smaart. I was super happy about that, and at no extra charge. I use Studio One Pro 2.5. They keep making it better and better. The last upgrade to 2.5 was free and it was awesome. I would not hesitate to buy any Presonus product at this point.
