Well folk's my acient system is giving up the ghost, time to upgrade. I decided in the last 4 works to start looking into a whole new system so far this is what I decided would work for me for another 7 years:

#1. AMD A6-Series AD3670WNGXBOX Quad-Core A6-3670K Black Edition APU - 4MB L2 Cache, 2.7GHz

#2. Patriot Viper 3 Extreme Performance Black Mamba PV316G186C0K 16GB Memory Module Kit - DDR3, 2x8GB, 1866MHz

#3, 2 each=1 terabyte of Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - 500GB

#4. Samsung 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 128GB Internal Solid State

#5. GIGABYTE GA-A55M-DS2 AMD A Series Motherboard - Micro ATX

#6. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

#7. LG Internal 24X DVD Rewriter

I decided to start with windows 7 as I have the beta drivers for my emu soundcard until I'm able to purchase a Focusrite USB card(because of ADAT), also the Mobo has a PCI slot for the Emu. It's not USB 3 but if need be I can upgrade it later. Also being an APU the video cores are built in to the CPU so no need for an addition card to add to the noise and if need be Crossfire is built in. It's not a monster system and by no means future proof but I believe it is more than adequate.

So far I'm looking at just under 600.00 dollars to bring me up to date. Time to start saving(or buying piece by piece).

Any and all comments welcome my friends.

It actually looks like a pretty good build. If I were to make any changes to the formula, I would consider bumping up the ram to 1800 or 2133. Patriot Hi-end ram is generally very affordable. I put the signature series 2133 in my system and it made a rediculous difference. BTW because of a rebate plus a sale at Microcenter, I got 16 gb for $40 after mfr. I'm pretty sure that deal has gone to the woodshed, but my Microcenter source lead me to believe that the Intel ram is constantly on sale.

Thank's for the suggestion on the RAM, the Mobo only supports up to 1866Mhz so after checking into that it only adds few more dollars still under 600.00 so I'm taking your advice and upping the memory speed.

Thank's my friend.
