Is FireStudio Mobile soon to be discontinued? The reason I asked is the local music store will sell me a new-in-the-box unit for US$199.
Maybe just the store is discontinuing sales of it? The cheapest I have seen on the interweb is $229.00?

Certainly this is no official statement, but since firewire has pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur I would say the writing is on the wall at the very least...

Northern Sound and light has that same price every day...

I've heard nothing of it.

There is no real need to replace this device in the near future that I can see. Firewire is still alive.

Ordered a FSM for US$199.00. I am a nube at this, but, from my research, FW is still stronger than USB for this application?

I don't know that I would say "stronger". FW and USB both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Yea, I had to jump on the TPP bandwagon
I guess I meant the FW will work for me better because I may want to get a StudioLive 16.0.2 at some point and the FSM would allow daisy chaining more inputs if needed.
