I've been working on Macro's this morning trying to figure out how to use the the scene recall, I set up buttons for the scene numbers but I can't for the life of me find an action or a way to save a Track or Console scene.

I searched the manual, all the actions and I even Googled it and the only thing I've found was a promo stating you can save scenes but in no way does it explain how.

Is there a way?

I'll wait for another more informed User(flattery intended) to set me straight.

Thank's in advance.

Scenes are saved at the bottom of the respective lists, in the tracklist or the console channel list, with the little "+" buttons.

Lmike is correct, you can link the arranger and the mixer if you want. You can also split the arranger from the mixer depending what view you want. The scenes function is good but you can'trearrange the order oof the scenes once you've added them.

Yeah that saves a preset however it's not tied to the scene action(in the keyboard action menu), I guess I could just load a preset but it would be nice to find out what those actions are tied too.

I'm still working on that my friend.

There's a little + symbol that if you click on allows you to add a name for the scene that you've just created.

Sorry to seem/sound goofy... But are these scenes as in Mixer scenes or just viewable track scenes?

Cool
The question I have is, is this the type of functionality that could do blocks like in reason?
Is that what you mean by scenes.
Bear in mind, its the morning here so I'm a bit slow.

The Recall commands are tied to the first five scenes in the scene list. Doesn't that work for you?
The Next Scene command should jump to, well, the next scene.
Worked here last time I tried these commands (back in the days of 2.0.7)

Scenes just define which Tracks/Channels are visible.
So a scene is a set of Tracks/Channels and when you recall a scene these are displayed.
Don't know about the blocks in reason, though...

CT: Close S1, paste this text into your commandbar.xml file, save it, and restart S1, and you'll have 5 buttons like this...

Hope that helps.

Got that but how are those scenes compiled/saved, which by my first post is what I'm trying to figure out for exanple:

I hide a few tracks then move on to something else then I want to go back, how do I save what was done first as Scene 1?

I tried naming a Preset(with the + button) and that did not correspond with the action Scene 1.

So in essence how is a Scene stored to the action "scene 1" which would answer the question in my OP and allow me to understand and set up my Macro accordingly.

Thank's for your replies everyone, sorry this really has me stymied .

The currently visible tracks/channels are stored in the preset when you click on the + button. If it's the first scene it can be recalled with the scene 1 command and so on for up to the first five scenes.
Oh, be aware of the fact that newly created channels are added to ALL scenes.
Don't know if this is also true for Track Scenes, though. Maybe this (confusing) behavior is confusing you?
Hope this will be changed soon!

CT: Unfortunately you can't.

Scenes cannot currently be "updated". Delete the old one, make a new one, but... the numerical order will change.
