Hello friends, I recently installed version 1.7 UC. In STUDIOLIVE 16.4.2 and I've been testing the Smaart Room Analysis Wizard after analyzed the room, the program created a chart and I could not put the parametric equalizer similar to the chart created. After the analysis done I just can not put the same wave graphically. Any way to fix this? I have seen only 4 band EQ.

Thanks to all

There is a document called the studio live software library reference guide. It's in the download area where the studio live manual is. It's been updated and explains how to read the data and what to do with the parametric eq. In essence the aim is not to completely flatten the eq put to find and fix "trends"

Definitely worth the read its very helpful especially if you've never dealt with smaart room analysis before.

There are two ways to adjust this. One way is to place your mouse on the filter of choice and simply move it to a new place which in turns adjusts your Main Parametric EQ. The other way is to SELECT MAIN FAT CHANNEL and manually adjust the EQ there to correct the response on your screen.

Sorry if you already know this..... Take a look here in the manual: http://www.presonus.com/uploads/products/1287/downloads/StudioLiveSoftware_ReferenceManual_EN.pdf

Page 56-59 in the manual has examples......

My computer runs really slow with this analyzer so it may take time to develop a trace and then to make adjustments.

Dear Friend, the problem is not the manually adjust the EQ, to correct the response on my screen or with mouse, the problem is i can't put the both the same line graphic. manualy i can but never the same line. i ask? can i put manualy the same line, it was produced by Analize ? i dont know how i do it.......I am portuguese and i dont know if you understand me, because my language inglish is bad.

No problem..... Do you, prefer to use the graphic EQ instead of the Main Parametric?

If so - you will have to go back to the Studiolive Tab and call up the VSL screen and go to the graphic screen - make changes and then go back and rerun the analyzer. This will be a pain to do.

The main fat channel parametric is the only one displayed in real time. Auxes to I believe.

Is this what you are asking? Your English is pretty good overall.

My question is, after graphic wave is done by the analyzer, i have to make a different graphic wave manualmente opposed to that defined by analyzer. or i have that trying to make a wave graphically equal to that was made, so he just rises or falls to +4dbs or +4dbs. how is the correction of the room? making a curve opposite, will or make a turn like the inicial defined by the analiser ?

In the manual are pictures of typical room scenarios. The idea isn't to make the trace FLAT but to identify anomolies where there may be a build up at 300Hz or maybe at 1kHz. You would then adjust the Main EQ to SMOOTH that out so that it looks like a nice smooth transition throughout the spectrum. That is it.

IF you drop everything to match the 0 dB line -- then you have missed the concept and it will sound very poor. The manual is very clear on an example of what a typical trace may look like and what was done to adjust that response. The end result is not FLAT but is SMOOTH and that is what you want to start off with.

I did this last night and I barely had to cut anything to bring the trace into formation with the rest of the trace. It isn't anywhere near the 0 dB line and it doesn't have to be. I am 12dB strong in the low end which tapers down towards 125Hz or so then goes completely flat to around 2kHz and the tapers off again with a roll off all the way on out. That was my first intial move.

Next I put in some Nickelback "Blackhorse" album and listened. I would turn off the main parametric and then back ON and YES I liked it better BUT I wasn't completely satisfied. I then used my ear and placed a filter around 500hz wide Q and did a mild scoop until it cleared up the boxiness. Just a few dB or 3. Done. Music sounded great and of course all my channel strip EQing is then based off of that intial starting place. Very nice sound.

I don't think this is meant to match traces or do inversions of traces. Just level off and balance out the current trend. I can't stress the manual enough.

Hope this helps...

Yes, I still found it handy for information i was using, and added an updated link to the document reference earlier, whose links no longer worked.

(I'm generally not on here every week, or even every month for that matter. I'm still trying to figure out how to look at all my "watched topics")
