I'm new to PreSonus Studio One V2, I use Reaper 4.0 as my main DAW for recording vocals over instrumental mp3/wav beats. I just started using PreSonus Studio One V2 and I do hear a differences in the sound quality. I want to using PreSonus Studio One V2 more for recording vocals over the mp3/wav beats but I'm having problems with figuring out the bus, the right vst to use. Since I do use Reaper 4.0; I already have it set up with a recording template I use with their own fx, compressors, eq, gain, limiter the bus tracks ect..
I really want to start recording with PreSonus Studio One because of it's built in mastering section that I have not seen in any other DAW. That way I don't have to render out wav files of all my sessions in Reaper to get mastered somewhere else.
The Microphone I have is a Condenser MXL 990 with shock mount, Prime Acoustic VoxGuard and two pop filter one mesh about 3inches from the mic, metal one about another 3inches away from the mesh filter. I'm running the mic through: A.R.T Pro Channel Microphone Preamp Compressor Amplifier M215 into my M-Audio Fast Track Pro Audio Interface.
My Sound Booth is small with 1”in Foam Treated Booth Size: W 2’ft 1”in x L 3’ft 5”in x H 7’ft 10”in and it isolates the vocals well.
So my question to you all is can someone help me set up a template for recording vocals over mp3/wav beats with the best bus channels to use on the vocals. I have the follow vst to use within PreSonus Studio One: Waves Mercury Bundle, T-Racks 3, iZotope Ozone 5, Celemony Melodeny 3, Atares Evo Auto Tune.
Also can someone recommend a good starting point on my ART Pro Channel for the mic preamp settings: gain, low-cut preamp-out/ Compressor settings: threshold, ratio, compressor-out / Equalizer settings: low, lo-mid, hi-mid, high settings with Freq.
I know I'm asking for a lot, but any help, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. I just want to give my best to the local underground artists out here in H-Town.
And on the next mixtape/album release, I will credit any producer/engineer who helps me with PreSonus Studio One as a thank you and also send you all a free cd or digital copy of the work!!

No need to credit me but I'd be happy to help. I can even setup the templates for you from here using Teamviewer. All my contact info is below. Feel free to give me a call or skype me.
Thank you for your reply. It would be great if you could help set up a template for me. I do have the following vst: Waves Mercury Bundle, T-Racks 3, iZotope Ozone 5, Atares Evo Auto Tune. So it you do have any of these vst you can add them to the templates if you wish too.

The best thing for us to do is have me actually setup the templates on your machine. Teamviewer would allow me to get onto your machine and, with us on the phone, you can actually test any setting I make right there. That way, the templates I setup are tested before we save and you know exactly what they sound like. You up for that?

Ah, my pleasure guys. I've met some great people doing all this. It's way too fun. Although I did have a guy last week threaten to ruin my internet reputation because I couldn't help him. He warned me to "Stay Off the Internet" if I knew what was good for me.
He had the most bizarre Studiolive\Studio One setup I'd ever seen. He also wanted some full tracks beat mapped and, since I don't use the Audio Bend feature in Studio One, it took me a while to figure something out. But ultimately, it wasn't what he wanted and got real nasty on some voice mails.
i sort of have the similar question. i mainly use reaper (64bit - windows 7) and have studio one 2. i really love the built in plug ins for vocals on S1. any way of being able to still use reaper as my main DAW, but rewire to just track vocals using those plug ins? i would have to be able to have all the other instruments in reaper playing to track over and reference.
i want to have control of the individual tracks in reaper AND still be able to tweak the vocals on S1 when mixing...is that even possible?
basically, reaper for everything, but rewire to use S1 for my vocal tracks and all working together???
