Now I start getting "Static Sound" more and more.....I have to unplug the USB from the Audio Box and plug back in then the sound play back clear, then for half hour or 1 hour and get "Static Sound" again. For "pop" and "click" still but not much...
Static Sound bother me too much I couldn't finishing record my vocal or mixing....

Hello,
Have you done power settings tweaks, and is the USB Selective suspend off? Have you optimized the computer for digital audio, and is there PLENTY of room on the storage drive? Are you using the BOOT drive for storage? Not a good idea to use the boot drive for storage, and 7200 RPM drives have been necessary to stop these problems as the track counts and DSP used increases.

NOTE: If your having an issue, open a tech support ticket and bring the number here if you want help!

Ok! Here is what I did...I set the ASIO Buffer Size down to 512... and tried out for 3 days...so far I don't get "Static Sound". But sometime I still getting "Pop" and "Click".

Thanks again for helping me out...very kind of you...

I tested the new beta, on my i7 win7 x64 cpu today. The beta produces a crackling asio after awhile, it corrupts even in studio one, after a few bounces of audio, rendered.

This was something the E-mu 1820m did within s1, presonus said they we're unable to work out a fix. I hope they can at least fix the 1818vsl.

I also tested this in pro tools, and it happens without any rendering, so I went back to the older 1.2 driver, and everything is well again.

Beta so far not good.

I too tried the 1.2.1 beta and wish I hadn't. Static, pops, and every manner of horrific driver performance on any buffer setting other than 2048 @ 96k. Rolled back to 1.2 using the uninstall procedures published here on the Presonus website and now the 1.2 driver is doing the same thing. Previously it was fine (and I'm an idiot for thinking the newer version would be better).

The real kicker is that ASIO4ALL's driver works flawlessly at buffer speeds below the 128 minimum available in the VSL. I'll be calling Presonus tonight, obviously.

When are we going to get this 1.2.2 driver for PC? I'm still within my return period with Sweetwater and I'm leaning toward returning my 22VSL at this point and leaving a negative review on their site. I understand things take time, but this lack of communication regarding progress is pretty synonymous with how Avid runs themselves these days, and that's a business model I'm completely unwilling to support.

Ran my audiobox1818vsl for 2 weeks for presenters. Clicks and pops all over the place. Upgraded to the beta. considerable improvement, but still got the odd click and pop after a while - so it hasn't fixed it for me either. Note that this isn't even recording, its purely as a live mixer.

The laptop I'm running doesn't have USB 3.0, its running windows 7 32bit. wasn't doing anything intensive - only running 4 channels at any one given time, but the pops/clicks occurred when only 1 channel was being output (the other 3 were muted).

will we ever see this fixed? Can it be fixed?

Going to do more testing, but if i'm having this problem with 4 channels i'd hate to think what would happen with 16.....

Intel changed something in the USB protocol (didn't follow the guidelines of the design functions) You can find out if you have this with Belarc... but as far as I know there isn't much we can do other than disable USB 3.0 xCHI functionality in the bios. This then lets the the port act as a USB 2.0.

We have found that it's hit or miss as to whether or not you will have this option... that is the rub.

We are (as far as I'm told) attempting to put together a list of computers that are know to be one way or the other.

I spoke with Tech Service and they are willing to try and help as there have been some workarounds for SOME of the issues.
