Not saying this will work for everyone but it did for me and I know of others with the same probelm who "fixed it" by doing the following.

If you have used the demo and then upgraded you may not be able to post in the Technical Support Area if you have the same log-in instance to the forum saved for auto log in. Simply log out of the forum and then log in. For some reason this "clears" up the problem.

Dan

Worked for me. Thanks for the tip! I had the same problem.

The problem I find is there is MUCH more activity in the General Disc forum. So you're much more likely to have someone just browsing your thread who might know something about how to help you.

People browsing the Technical Support aren't looking for light reading. They are there because they have a problem, or they are a knowledgeable person intentionally looking to see if there is anyone they can take the time to help.

I've had a few posts that I put in Tech Support that have sat there with 0 replies for weeks, sometimes never replied to at all. And some questions that I've put in General Disc always get some activity and often get some good advice from people that were just browsing the forum for kicks.

I always find it interesting how different people's approach to forum reading is.

I for one never "browse" the forum but use some "new topics" function to see what's going on recently. That way, if I find a post that I think I can contribute, I will - no matter in which section it is.

Organization is generally a good thing in my book ...

I always go to recent topics myself, it's a dang good way to stay on top of things and help where I can(except for those few crack babies the slip through the net).

p.s. I also love to head off the trolls when given the opportunity.

This needs to be made clearer. It's possible that my official email may not match my login. It is imperative to find a better way to administrate this as well. I'm wondering whether user name is matched to email on user name and the license email. I figured that I didn't have permission to post there and wondered why I was able to post in the general discussion area instead of just presale.

PS - I find this forum terrible all around. You can't drill down searches and sort by different factors. As a result, I'll probably find the same question asked multiple times because finding prior answered questions isn't either easier. Guys - call me up and I'd be glad to convert this forum to something that does this.

Ya know, sometimes you just scratch your head and ask what the hell are they thinking.

It seems to me if you have a technical support issue you would post in THAT thread. Seems simple to me.

I use -

for submitting requests. My issue was submitted on a Friday and resolved the following Monday. Granted the issue is not public (at least I don't think it is) for everyone to see but it was resolved a lot faster than I see on the the "Technical Support" forum.

Very new to the site. I have posted a question to Tech Support and one to users in general. Is there a forum page dedicated to users asking each other for assistance or input? I want to play by the rules. But I do like getting advice or assistance from other users if they are willing to help. I actually had an issue with Melodyne not registering which I did send to tech support and they sent me to Celemony. My next issues was an error stating Melodyne and Studio One were not compatible. It was Celemony who realized I did not have version 2.0.6 of Studio One updated and that is why Melodyne would not open in Studio One. I posted that solution on a reply to my question to the users so that if anyone else had that issue I would save them the time of waiting for tech support. What kinds of issues or topics would fall into the "General Discussion" catagory?

OK after reading through all of the comments on this subject I may be getting the idea. It sounds like there is concern of hackers and folks who are not registered owners picking up tips on here. I will search the forums more completely and see if there is a section that general questions, like what is a good compression setting for vocals? could be asked and advice given by users. I need to search through the various topics to better understand this site. And I am a true owner of Studio One Producer. But from what I read apparently there is concern that some are on here who are not. Allan Harris, Springfield IL,,

As a newb here I'd like to throw in my 2 cents. I agree with some of the other posters that things could be clearer.

I had a small tech problem, so I look on the forums (after diligently searching here and google and not finding a relevant answer). So I go to the forum page and look down the list and see a big blue heading saying "Studio One Technical Support". Aha ! This is what I need I think. Underneath in small letters it says "User-Based Studio One Technical Support " Great. I know I can't expect support from Presonus, cos I've read the Ts & Cs. But this says "user based". Then I find there's no post button. So I end up mentioning my problem as an aside in the general forum and get it sorted right away (I was doing something dumb as I suspected). Only now do I see there's a forum called "Studio One Free" in big blue letters - no mention of tech support unless I read the fine print underneath - which is why I didn't see this first time around. So yes I think things could be clearer.

I'm using the free version. I'm grateful to Presonus for making such a great tool accessible in this way. I presume they want to encourage people like me (with absolutely no experience of DAWs ) to experience it and have a proportion of those upgrading at some point. Community is a very big part of the experience which will cause me to choose between this and another product, and in my opinion that community feeling should be encouraged. Getting all sniffy and draconian on peoples asses doesn't give that vibe, though I respect your reasons for it.

Still it's your party and I'm happy to play by your rules. Unless someone throws a better one.
