I am usually a windows guy but i took my 2009 mbp out for a spin this weekend as my other rig was in use somewhere else. I recorded as usual using a belkin 800 to 400 cable that i know is good. Performers complained to me after abo. ut 15 minutes the in ear. mixers were clicking i ended up having to disconnect the mac and problem went away. Last night i did further testing with the mac. Turns out i have to run in safe mode 1 or 2 to stop the glitching it is noticeable in the audio recordings as a rubber banding effect. The mac is a decent spec i7 2.7ghz 8gb ram with 480gb ssd it has no problems running with audiobox or pod500hd and no other software was running

Macos 10.7.4
Studio one 2.0.7

Sorry about grammar lol i typed this on my phone, i wish this forum had phone support!!

Hi Phil, I run my core 2 duo mbp with 4gig ram at normal settings and have never had issues. I've done this while recording to external USB hdd. I've even run waves multirack and still no issues. Normally I set the buffers for multirack to 512. I have had clicks at 128 and even at 256 occasionally so I use 512 to be absolutely safe.

Cheers
Graham

I've also never had problems with the default settings with my MBP (2.66gHz i7 with 4GB of Ram).

However, I did once have some problems with the firewire cable. The board was working but having intermittent issues.

Then I bought one from Granite Digital and haven't had any issues since. This is a pricey cable, but worth every penny especially if you are using the board in critical situations: http://www.granitedigital.com/firewire1394-b10ft6pinto9pinwithled.aspx

I run my 2.4 GHz I5 MBP w/ 4GB RAM at 32 samples most days. On really big projects (32 tracks or more) I have to jack it up to 64 or 128. But I'm using Studio One. I do bump it all the way to 1024 when I'm recording live, just because it won't hurt anything and it puts my old-school-OMG-32-samples-is-stupidly-low-and-can't-possibly-be-stable brain at ease.
