Hi. I created a short piano work with S1 Pro with a midi track and QL Pianos as virtual instrument.
All runs ok, but the problem is when I export it as audio file. I tried, before, to export without "real time processing", but the result it's terrifying. No sustain pedal, only notes but no legato, all staccato...horror!!!
Exporting in "real time processing" runs ok.
But there are some files very long and exporting it in real time cause a very long time. Why the "non real time processing" doesn't work well? There's some setting particular I'm missing?

Many thanks.

Don't know the QL Pianos myself, but maybe you should have a closer look if there's any kind of option or setting in the plug-in that's related to offline boucing.

Alternatively, if there's a setting to control the amount of "Preload" into RAM (as opposed to HD streaming) then you should increase it.

You posted in another thread with some very strange issues related to the same instrument (QL Pianos), wherein you had to set the buffer size to 1024 for the instrument to correctly play with sustain, etc.

I use a number of high-quality pianos (Garritan, NI Akoustik, etc), and have never seen this issue. I do not own QL Pianos, so I can't test that for you. Does this instrument use their PLAY engine?

I am HIGHLY suspect of QL Pianos at this point...I doubt you would see the same results with any other virtual instrument.

But...I have to increase it in S1 or in the plugin? Thanks

Jonathan: yes, QL Pianos have is PLAY engine. I think that all EWQL products with PLAY engine runs little differently in Cubase or in S1. But since I'm inexperienced about S1 I think the problem is caused by my ignorance in the settings of S1

It is not normal at all to have these issues with a virtual instrument, regardless of the settings in Studio One. The buffer size normally has no effect on the musical performance of a virtual instrument...it only affects how much CPU is used, a lower setting means more CPU in general, as the audio is being processed faster, with less latency.

I would contact EWQL support to discuss what they think the issue might be.

I have the EW Pianos VST and have no problem with S1 regarding the mixdown feature. I work with Windows XP SP3.

But sometimes the instruments didn't sound good when it starts: it sounds with a sort of distorsion.
I have to restart the instrument two or three times, then it works good again...

I hope other people will excuse me if I don't translate what I wrote, but my english it's very bad and it's very difficult for me translate. Sorry...

A presto!
